About This Text
Author: Mordechai Kohen
Siftei Kohen on Torah is an early-17th-century kabbalistic commentary by Rabbi Mordechai Kohen, a rabbi in Safed and later in Aleppo. It is occasionally referred to as “Shach on the Torah,” to distinguish it from a popular work of the same name on the Shulchan Arukh. The commentary was printed several times and quoted often in certain later works, like those of Rabbi Hayyim Joseph David Azulai (known as the Chida).
