The Guide for the Perplexed, written by Maimonides (Rambam), contains the author’s philosophical views. It is written in the form of a letter to his student, Rabbi Joseph ben Judah of Ceuta. Originally written in Judeo-Arabic, it was later translated to Hebrew (1204). The Guide includes Rambam’s objection to anthropomorphism, an explanation of the Biblical account of creation, and a description of the Merkavah.
