About This Text

Author: Moshe Chaim Ephraim of Sudilkov
Composed:  c.1770 – c.1800 CE
Classic Chassidic work by Moshe Chaim Ephraim of Sudilkov, a grandson of Baal Shem Tov, published posthumously by his son Yaakov Yechiel. It is arranged according to the weekly Torah readings and contains many teachings the author heard directly from his grandfather. It is thus considered one of the primary sources of the Baal Shem Tov's ideology. Also included are some of the lectures delivered by the author during his tenure as preacher in Sudilkov.
