Questions to Ponder:
1) Leo and Boris grew up together in Buffalo Grove and their families often shared get-together's. Leo called up Boris to invite him to Rosh Hashana dinner. Boris replied, no thanks, we're pretty secular, we only celebrate Chanukah. Leo responded "Boris, that makes no sense. Chanukah is only a Rabbinic holiday while Rosh Hashana is from the Torah. You just like it because it's around Christmas time and you enjoy presents." Boris pushes Leo off and says, "We're going to a J-Life event tonight, lets ask some of the participants what they think...
2) Natasha attended the RAJE Poland trip and was very inspired to strengthen her Jewish identity. When Chanukah came around, she was excited to celebrate with the parties and events around town, as well as lighting her own Menorah at home. She called up her rabbi for details... "All 8 nights Rabbi?" she replied, "isn't that a little bit much, don't I get the message after just a night or two?"

... The light that the Holy One, Blessed be He, created on the first day was not that of the sun but a different kind of light, through which man could observe from one end of the world to the other. But God thought that people might misuse this light for evil, so He arose and concealed it from them...
And for whom did He conceal it? For the righteous people in the future...

תניא ר"מ אומר טוב שמו ... אומרים בשעה שנולד משה נתמלא הבית כולו אור כתיב הכא ותרא אותו כי טוב הוא וכתיב התם (בראשית א, ד) וירא אלהים את האור כי טוב
Rabbi Meir says: “Tov” is his, Moses’, real name... At the time when Moses was born, the entire house was filled with light, as it is written here: “And when she saw him that he was a goodly [tov] child,” and it is written there: “And God saw the light, that it was good [tov]” (Genesis 1:4).

(12) "And the Lord God made for the human and for his woman clothing of skin, and dressed them" (Gen 3:21). In the Torah of Rabbi Meir we find written "clothing of light" ...This clothing was like fingernails, radiant like pearl.
התורה שנתן לו הקב"ה למשה נתנה לו אש לבנה חרותה באש שחורה
...The Torah that God gave Moses was given with white fire etched in black fire.

...Aaron did not make an offering with the princes, for he said, “Woe to me! Perhaps it is because of me that the Holy One, blessed be He, is not accepting the tribe of Levi.” The Holy One, blessed be He, said to Moshe, “Go, say unto Aaron, ‘Do not be afraid. You are destined for something greater than this... The offerings remain in force as long as the Temple exists, but the lamps are forever.
