Assignment for Lesson #6: Using Sefaria's Library in the Classroom
This week's assignment gives you the opportunity to try out the features discussed in the lesson and to reflect on how you would use them in a teaching setting.
Steps for completing the assignment:
  1. Click "Save".
  2. Follow the directions and write your answers in a comment below each answer.
  3. Use the checklist/rubric at the bottom of the sheet to make sure that you have completed all of the elements of the assignment.
1) Open two texts to study side-by-side.
  • Take a screenshot of the result and add it to this sheet using "Media" or
  • Add the URL of the page with side-by-side text in a text box.
Write a short explanation of why you chose the two texts and how you could use it in your educational setting, and add it to this sheet as a comment below.
2) Adding a text via the library.
Add a text to this sheet via the library, Add a sentence in a comment giving an example of a time when you would add a text in this way.
3) Writing a note.
  • Add a note. Copy the URL of the page with the note in a comment below. Click here for an example.
  • Write an example of how you would use the note feature in your learning environment.
4) Find out more about what you are reading.
Open the "About" page on a text in the library. Copy and paste an interesting fact about the text into a comment below.
5) Change the version of a text.
  • Change the version of a text.
  • Write which version you chose and why in a text box below.
6) Tools menu.
Try out at least one of the three options in the tools menu. (share a text, add a translation, add a connection).
Describe which you tried and how you would use it in your teaching setting.
7) Feedback.
Send a message to Sefaria. Select "Get Help", "Give Thanks", or "Other" as your type. (We don't want to disturb the engineers!)
