About This Text

Author: Yaakov Ettlinger
Minchat Ani on Torah is a 19th-century collection of homilies on the Torah portion by Rabbi Yaakov Ettlinger, a leading German rabbi and author of the Arukh LaNer Talmud commentary. Ettlinger’s son published the book posthumously, based in large part on sermons that his father delivered while serving as chief rabbi of Altona. The sermons incorporate biblical commentary, midrash, and ethical instruction.
