1. And the Lord had said to Abram, Get out from your country, and from your family, and from your fathers house, to a land that I will show you;
2. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing;
3. And I will bless those who bless you, and curse him who curses you; and in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.
4. So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken to him; and Lot went with him; and Abram was seventy five years old when he departed from Haran.
5. And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brothers son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go to the land of Canaan; and to the land of Canaan they came.
6. And Abram passed through the land to the place of Shechem, to the terebinth of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.
7. And the Lord appeared to Abram, and said, To your seed will I give this land; and there he built an altar to the Lord, who appeared to him.
8. And he moved from there to a mountain in the east of Beth-El, and pitched his tent, having Beth-El on the west, and Hai on the east; and there he built an altar to the Lord, and called upon the name of the Lord.
9. And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the Negev.
(15) for all the land which you see, to you I will give it, and to your offspring for ever.
(8) And I will give unto you, and to your offspring, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.’
(18) In that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying: ‘Unto your offspring I have given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates;
24. Every place where the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours; from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, to the uttermost sea shall be your border.
1. And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
2. Command the people of Israel, and say to them, When you come into the land of Canaan; this is the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, the land of Canaan with its borders;
3. Then the Negev quarter shall be from the wilderness of Zin along by the border of Edom, and your south border shall be the end of the Sea of Salt on the east;
4. (K) And your border shall turn from the Negev to Maale-Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin; and its limits shall be from the south to Kadesh-Barnea, and shall go on to Hazar-Addar, and pass on to Azmon;
5. And the border shall turn from Azmon to the brook of Egypt and the limits shall be at the sea.
6. And as for the western border, you shall have the Great Sea for a border; this shall be your west border.
7. And this shall be your north border; from the Great Sea you mark your line to Mount Hor;
8. From Mount Hor you shall mark your line to the entrance of Hamath; and the limits of the border shall be to Zedad;
9. And the border shall go on to Ziphron, and its limits shall be at Hazar-Enan; this shall be your north border.
10. And you shall point out your east border from Hazar-Enan to Shepham;
11. And the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain; and the border shall descend, and shall reach the side of the sea of Kinnereth eastward;
12. And the border shall go down to the Jordan, and its limits shall be at the Sea of Salt; this shall be your land with its borders around
13. And it shall come to pass, if you shall give heed diligently to my commandments which I command you this day, to love the Lord your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,
14. That I will give you the rain of your land in its due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, and your wine, and your oil.
15. And I will send grass in your fields for your cattle, that you may eat and be full.
16. Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and you turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;
17. And then the Lords anger be kindled against you, and he closed the skies, that there should be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest you perish quickly from off the good land which the Lord gives you.
18. Therefore shall you lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
19. And you shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
20. And you shall write them upon the door posts of your house, and upon your gates;
21. That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.
(16) And the LORD shall inherit Judah as His portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.
(15) Now the LORD had revealed unto Samuel a day before Saul came, saying: (16) ’To-morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be prince over My people Israel, and he shall save My people out of the hand of the Philistines; for I have looked upon My people, because their cry is come unto Me.’
