וְ֠הוּא יִבְנֶה אֶת־הֵיכַ֤ל יי וְהֽוּא יִשָּׂא ה֔וֹד וְיָשַׁ֥ב וּמָשַׁ֖ל עַל־כִּסְא֑וֹ וְהָיָ֤ה כֹהֵן֙ עַל־כִּסְא֔וֹ וַעֲצַ֣ת שָׁלוֹם תִּהְיֶה בֵּ֥ין שְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃
He shall build the Temple of the LORD and shall assume majesty, and he shall sit on his throne and rule. And there shall also be a priest seated on his throne, and harmonious understanding shall prevail between them.
וַיְגַדֵּ֨ל יי אֶת־שְׁלֹמֹה֙ לְמַ֔עְלָה לְעֵינֵ֖י כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּתֵּ֤ן עָלָיו֙ ה֣וֹד מַלְכ֔וּת אֲ֠שֶׁר לֹֽא־הָיָ֧ה עַל־כָּל־מֶ֛לֶךְ לְפָנָ֖יו עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל.
You have endowed him with splendor and majesty.
וְהִשְׁמִ֨יעַ יי אֶת־ה֣וֹד קוֹל֗וֹ וְנַ֤חַת זְרוֹעוֹ֙ יַרְאֶ֔ה בְּזַ֣עַף אַ֔ף וְלַ֖הַב אֵ֣שׁ אוֹכֵלָ֑ה נֶ֥פֶץ וָזֶ֖רֶם וְאֶ֥בֶן בָּרָֽד׃
And display the sweep of His arm
In raging wrath,
In a devouring blaze of fire,
In tempest, and rainstorm, and hailstones.
...וַיי שָׁמַ֥יִם עָשָֽׂה׃ ה֤וֹד וְהָדָר֙ לְפָנָ֔יו עֹ֥ז וְחֶדְוָ֖ה בִּמְקֹמֽוֹ׃ הָב֤וּ לַֽיי מִשְׁפְּח֣וֹת עַמִּ֔ים הָב֥וּ לַיי כָּב֥וֹד וָעֹֽז׃
...but the LORD made the heavens. Glory and majesty are before Him; strength and joy are in His place. “Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
מִ֭צָּפוֹן זָהָ֣ב יֶֽאֱתֶ֑ה עַל־אֱ֝ל֗וֹקַּ נ֣וֹרָא הֽוֹד׃
The splendor about God is awesome.
הוֹד־וְהָדָ֥ר לְפָנָ֑יו עֹ֥ז וְ֝תִפְאֶ֗רֶת בְּמִקְדָּשֽׁוֹ׃ הָב֣וּ לַ֭יי מִשְׁפְּח֣וֹת עַמִּ֑ים הָב֥וּ לַ֝יי כָּב֥וֹד וָעֹֽז׃
Glory and majesty are before Him;
strength and splendor are in His temple.
Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
גְּדֹלִים מַעֲשֵׂי יי דְּרוּשִׁים לְכָל־חֶפְצֵיהֶם׃ הוֹד־וְהָדָר פָּעֳלוֹ וְצִדְקָתוֹ עֹמֶדֶת לָעַד׃ זֵכֶר עָשָׂה לְנִפְלְאֹתָיו חַנּוּן וְרַחוּם יי׃ טֶרֶף נָתַן לִירֵאָיו יִזְכֹּר לְעוֹלָם בְּרִיתוֹ׃ כֹּחַ מַעֲשָׂיו הִגִּיד לְעַמּוֹ לָתֵת לָהֶם נַחֲלַת גּוֹיִם׃ מַעֲשֵׂי יָדָיו אֱמֶת וּמִשְׁפָּט נֶאֱמָנִים כָּל־פִּקּוּדָיו׃ סְמוּכִים לָעַד לְעוֹלָם עֲשׂוּיִם בֶּאֱמֶת וְיָשָׁר׃ פְּדוּת שָׁלַח לְעַמּוֹ צִוָּה־לְעוֹלָם בְּרִיתוֹ קָדוֹשׁ וְנוֹרָא שְׁמוֹ׃ רֵאשִׁית חָכְמָה יִרְאַת יי שֵׂכֶל טוֹב לְכָל־עֹשֵׂיהֶם תְּהִלָּתוֹ עֹמֶדֶת לָעַד.
The works of the LORD are great,
within reach of all who desire them. His deeds are Majestic and glorious; His beneficence is everlasting; He has won renown for His wonders. God is gracious and compassionate; He gives food to those who fear Him; He is ever mindful of His covenant. He revealed to His people His powerful works, in giving them the heritage of nations. His handiwork is truth and justice; all His precepts are enduring, well-founded for all eternity, wrought of truth and equity. He sent redemption to His people; He ordained His covenant for all time; His name is holy and awesome. The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the LORD; all who practice it gain sound understanding. Praise of Him is everlasting.
בָּרֲכִי נַפְשִׁי אֶת־יי יי אֱלֹקַי גָּדַלְתָּ מְּאֹד הוֹד וְהָדָר לָבָשְׁתָּ׃ עֹטֶה־אוֹר כַּשַּׂלְמָה נוֹטֶה שָׁמַיִם כַּיְרִיעָה׃
O LORD, my God, You are very great;
You are clothed in glory and majesty, wrapped in a robe of light;
You spread the heavens like a tent cloth.
לְךָ֣ יי הַגְּדֻלָּ֨ה וְהַגְּבוּרָ֤ה וְהַתִּפְאֶ֙רֶת֙ וְהַנֵּ֣צַח וְהַה֔וֹד כִּי־כֹ֖ל בַּשָּׁמַ֣יִם וּבָאָ֑רֶץ לְךָ֤ יי הַמַּמְלָכָ֔ה וְהַמִּתְנַשֵּׂ֖א לְכֹ֥ל ׀ לְרֹֽאשׁ׃
Yours, LORD, are greatness, might, splendor, triumph, and majesty yes, all that is in heaven and on earth; to You, LORD, belong kingship and preeminence above all.
...ה֭וֹד וְהָדָ֣ר לָבָֽשְׁתָּ׃ עֹֽטֶה־א֭וֹר כַּשַּׂלְמָ֑ה נוֹטֶ֥ה שָׁ֝מַ֗יִם כַּיְרִיעָֽה׃
...You are clothed in glory and majesty, wrapped in a robe of light;
You spread the heavens like a tent cloth.
Do you clothe his neck with a mane? Do you make him quiver like locusts,
His majestic snorting [spreading] terror?
Deck yourself now with grandeur and eminence; Clothe yourself in glory and majesty.
