What is Peace Anyway?

(כד) יְבָרֶכְךָ֥ ה וְיִשְׁמְרֶֽךָ׃ (ס) (כה) יָאֵ֨ר ה ׀ פָּנָ֛יו אֵלֶ֖יךָ וִֽיחֻנֶּֽךָּ׃ (ס) (כו) יִשָּׂ֨א ה ׀ פָּנָיו֙ אֵלֶ֔יךָ וְיָשֵׂ֥ם לְךָ֖ שָׁלֽוֹם׃ (ס)

(24) May G-d bless you, and guard you; (25) May G-d's face shine upon you and be gracious to you (26) May G-d lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

(יח) עֵץ־חַיִּ֣ים הִ֭יא לַמַּחֲזִיקִ֣ים בָּ֑הּ וְֽתֹמְכֶ֥יהָ מְאֻשָּֽׁר׃ -(יז) דְּרָכֶיהָ דַרְכֵי נֹעַם וְכָל נְתִיבוֹתֶיהָ שָׁלוֹם.

(18) It is a tree of life for those who grasp it, and those who draw near it are fortunate. (17) Its ways are ways of pleasantness, and all its paths are peace.

G-ds name is Shalom, and Shabbos is called Shalom, because They are the Shalom of above and the Shalom of below.

The name of Moshiach is Shalom

(א) שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם מַלְאֲכֵי הַשָּׁרֵת‏‏ מַלְאֲכֵי עֶלְיוֹן

(1) Peace be with you, ministering angels, messengers of the Most High

(ב) ...עֹשֶׂ֥ה שָׁ֝ל֗וֹם בִּמְרוֹמָֽיו׃

(2) ...He makes peace in His high places.

(טז) וַיְצַו֙ ה אֱלֹקים עַל־הָֽאָדָ֖ם לֵאמֹ֑ר מִכֹּ֥ל עֵֽץ־הַגָּ֖ן אָכֹ֥ל תֹּאכֵֽל׃ (יז) וּמֵעֵ֗ץ הַדַּ֙עַת֙ ט֣וֹב וָרָ֔ע לֹ֥א תֹאכַ֖ל מִמֶּ֑נּוּ כִּ֗י בְּי֛וֹם אֲכָלְךָ֥ מִמֶּ֖נּוּ מ֥וֹת תָּמֽוּת׃

16. And G-d commanded man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat. 17. But of the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat of it...
