(1) (This is) the vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, that he saw about Judah and Jerusalem, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.
(י) שִׁמְע֥וּ דְבַר־יְהוָ֖ה קְצִינֵ֣י סְדֹ֑ם הַאֲזִ֛ינוּ תּוֹרַ֥ת אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ עַ֥ם עֲמֹרָֽה׃
(10) Hear the word of the LORD, rulers of Sdom; Give (cause your) ear (listen) to the law of our God, nation of Gomorrah.
(יא) לָמָּה־לִּ֤י רֹב־זִבְחֵיכֶם֙ יֹאמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה שָׂבַ֛עְתִּי עֹל֥וֹת אֵילִ֖ים וְחֵ֣לֶב מְרִיאִ֑ים וְדַ֨ם פָּרִ֧ים וּכְבָשִׂ֛ים וְעַתּוּדִ֖ים לֹ֥א חָפָֽצְתִּי׃
(11) Why do (you make) most of your sacrifices to me, says the Eternal; I am sated of sacrifices of rams, And the milk (fat) of fattened animals; and the blood of bulls and sheep and goats, I wasn't interested (in)
(יב) כִּ֣י תָבֹ֔אוּ לֵרָא֖וֹת פָּנָ֑י מִי־בִקֵּ֥שׁ זֹ֛את מִיֶּדְכֶ֖ם רְמֹ֥ס חֲצֵרָֽי׃
(12) For you come to see my face, who asked this of your hands, the crushing of my courts ?
(יג) לֹ֣א תוֹסִ֗יפוּ הָבִיא֙ מִנְחַת־שָׁ֔וְא קְטֹ֧רֶת תּוֹעֵבָ֛ה הִ֖יא לִ֑י חֹ֤דֶשׁ וְשַׁבָּת֙ קְרֹ֣א מִקְרָ֔א לֹא־אוּכַ֥ל אָ֖וֶן וַעֲצָרָֽה׃
(13) Do not add more offerings (bringings) (to) vain sacrifices (michat shav), it is an abonimable incense/smell to me; the Month and Shabbat, read the text, sin and (?? imprisonment) are not eaten ?
Bring no more vain oblations; It is an offering of abomination unto Me; New moon and sabbath, the holding of convocations— I cannot endure iniquity along with the solemn assembly.
(יד) חָדְשֵׁיכֶ֤ם וּמוֹעֲדֵיכֶם֙ שָׂנְאָ֣ה נַפְשִׁ֔י הָי֥וּ עָלַ֖י לָטֹ֑רַח נִלְאֵ֖יתִי נְשֹֽׂא׃
(14) Your months and your times my soul hates, were trouble to me; I am tired/despairing to hold them up.
(טו) וּבְפָרִשְׂכֶ֣ם כַּפֵּיכֶ֗ם אַעְלִ֤ים עֵינַי֙ מִכֶּ֔ם גַּ֛ם כִּֽי־תַרְבּ֥וּ תְפִלָּ֖ה אֵינֶ֣נִּי שֹׁמֵ֑עַ יְדֵיכֶ֖ם דָּמִ֥ים מָלֵֽאוּ׃
(15) And your spreading of your mouths, I will lift my eyes from them, and also when you lengthen your prayer I will not listen; your hands are full of blood.
(טז) רַחֲצוּ֙ הִזַּכּ֔וּ הָסִ֛ירוּ רֹ֥עַ מַעַלְלֵיכֶ֖ם מִנֶּ֣גֶד עֵינָ֑י חִדְל֖וּ הָרֵֽעַ׃
(16) Wash, (clean yourself), remove evil from your misdeeds, from before my eyes; Cease the evil
Wash you, make you clean...
(יז) לִמְד֥וּ הֵיטֵ֛ב דִּרְשׁ֥וּ מִשְׁפָּ֖ט אַשְּׁר֣וּ חָמ֑וֹץ שִׁפְט֣וּ יָת֔וֹם רִ֖יבוּ אַלְמָנָֽה׃ (ס)
(17) Learn to do good; Seek justice, make happy (approve) the sour, Judge the orphan, plead/argue for the widow.
(יח) לְכוּ־נָ֛א וְנִוָּֽכְחָ֖ה יֹאמַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה אִם־יִֽהְי֨וּ חֲטָאֵיכֶ֤ם כַּשָּׁנִים֙ כַּשֶּׁ֣לֶג יַלְבִּ֔ינוּ אִם־יַאְדִּ֥ימוּ כַתּוֹלָ֖ע כַּצֶּ֥מֶר יִהְיֽוּ׃
(18) Come (please, let us reason) let us find some agreement says the Eternal, if your sins are like scarlet, they will whiten like snow, if they are red like scarlet/crimson, they will be like wool/fleece
(יח) לְכוּ־נָ֛א וְנִוָּֽכְחָ֖ה יֹאמַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה אִם־יִֽהְי֨וּ חֲטָאֵיכֶ֤ם כַּשָּׁנִים֙ כַּשֶּׁ֣לֶג יַלְבִּ֔ינוּ אִם־יַאְדִּ֥ימוּ כַתּוֹלָ֖ע כַּצֶּ֥מֶר יִהְיֽוּ׃
(18) Come now, and let us reason together (find some agreement), Saith the LORD; Though your sins be as scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they be red like crimson, They shall be as wool.
(א) בִּשְׁנַת־מוֹת֙ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ עֻזִּיָּ֔הוּ וָאֶרְאֶ֧ה אֶת־אֲדֹנָ֛י יֹשֵׁ֥ב עַל־כִּסֵּ֖א רָ֣ם וְנִשָּׂ֑א וְשׁוּלָ֖יו מְלֵאִ֥ים אֶת־הַהֵיכָֽל׃
(1) In the year that king Uzziah died I saw my Lord sitting upon a throne high and lifted up, and His hem filled the palace temple.
(2) Seraphim stood from above him, six wings, six wings for each; in two were his face covered and in two were his feet covered, and in two he flew. (bih - with)
(3) And one called unto another, and said: Holy, holy, holy, the Eternal of hosts; his glory fills all the earth (land).
(4) And the posts of the door were moved from/by the voice of them that called, and the house was filled with smoke.
(ה) וָאֹמַ֞ר אֽוֹי־לִ֣י כִֽי־נִדְמֵ֗יתִי כִּ֣י אִ֤ישׁ טְמֵֽא־שְׂפָתַ֙יִם֙ אָנֹ֔כִי וּבְתוֹךְ֙ עַם־טְמֵ֣א שְׂפָתַ֔יִם אָנֹכִ֖י יוֹשֵׁ֑ב כִּ֗י אֶת־הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ יְהוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת רָא֥וּ עֵינָֽי׃
(5) Then I said: Woe is me! I am destroyed for I am a man of impure lips, and I dwell in the midst of an nation of unclean lips. And yet the King the Eternal of Hosts, my eyes saw.
(ו) וַיָּ֣עָף אֵלַ֗י אֶחָד֙ מִן־הַשְּׂרָפִ֔ים וּבְיָד֖וֹ רִצְפָּ֑ה בְּמֶ֨לְקַחַ֔יִם לָקַ֖ח מֵעַ֥ל הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃
(6) One of the Seraphim flew unto me, and in his hand was an coal/ember, with tongs he had taken it from the altar.
(ז) וַיַּגַּ֣ע עַל־פִּ֔י וַיֹּ֕אמֶר הִנֵּ֛ה נָגַ֥ע זֶ֖ה עַל־שְׂפָתֶ֑יךָ וְסָ֣ר עֲוֺנֶ֔ךָ וְחַטָּאתְךָ֖ תְּכֻפָּֽר׃
(7) and he touched my mouth, and said: Here, this this touch upon your lips; And gone is your sin (iniquity), and your sin is atoned for
(8) And I heard the voice of my Lord, saying: Whom shall I send, And who will go for us? Then I said: ‘Here am I; send me.’
(9) And He said: ‘Go, and tell this people: Surely you will here, but you will not understand; and surely you will see, but you will not know.
(10) Fatten the heart of this people, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes and hear with their hears and understand with their heart, return and heal it.
(14) Therefore my Lord he shall give you a sign: behold, the young woman shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name (God is with us) Immanuel.
(ד) בְּכָל־זֹאת֙ לֹא־שָׁ֣ב אַפּ֔וֹ וְע֖וֹד יָד֥וֹ נְטוּיָֽה׃ (ס) (ה) ה֥וֹי אַשּׁ֖וּר שֵׁ֣בֶט אַפִּ֑י וּמַטֶּה־ה֥וּא בְיָדָ֖ם זַעְמִֽי׃
(4) In all this His anger (mouth) is not turned away, But His hand is stretched out still. (5) O Asshur, the rod of My anger, In whose hand as a staff is Mine indignation!
