נון שערי בינה נבראו בעולם וכולם ניתנו למשה חוץ מאחד (נדרים לח א) צריך להבין למה אמר כולן ניתנו למשה ואח"כ אמר חוץ מאחד הוה ליה למימר מ"ט ניתנו למשה
והענין הוא כי יש שני מיני דעת הא' דעת ההתגלות והב' דעת הנעלם
וכל מה שיודעים ומשיגים הוא בדעת ההתגלות ועל ידי דעת הזה בא לבחינת דעת הנעלם
והענין יובן על דרך משל אדם שמפלפל ומבין בדעתו ומתוך פלפולו נכנס בעמק שכלו סברא דקה אשר אי אפשר לבאר בפה והוא ברצוא ושוב והסברא עמוקה ומתוקה מאד ומחמת דקותה לא תתפשט בדבור רק נשאר בשכל
וכן על דרך זה יש דעת הגלוי שבו משיגים אלהותו ומפני זה נכנסים למדריגה עמוקה דעת נעלם ר"ל שבא לבחינה שמשיג שאי אפשר לעמוד על תכליתה מפני גודל הבהירות
וזהו תכלית הידיעה אשר לא תדע
ר"ל שיבא למקום שמשיג שא"א לידע אבל לא כהמון עם שסוברים שהתכלית הוא אשר לא ידע מאומה א"כ כל הפחות בדעת בא לתכלית יותר אלא הכוונה שישיג דבר שמפני בהירתו א"א לעמוד עליו
ולא ע"ד האמנה אלא יכנוס למקום ההוא ממש
ומשה שרשו בדעת הנעלם ולכן משה מלגאו ויעקב הוא י 'עקב שנתפשט השכל בסוף ועקב זהו מלבר והתפשטות דעת הנעלם למטה בגלוי נקרא גם כן משה כי מן המים משיתיהו שנמשך משורש הנעלם נמצא הנו"ן שערי בינה הם מ"ט שנתגלו ושער הנו"ן הוא נתיב לא ידעו עיט ר"ל שמפני בהירתו א"א להשיגו והנה משה הבין זה נמצא ניתן לו כל הנו"ן שערים כי זה הוא שער הנו"ן שידע שאי אפשר להשיגו כאמור וזהו כולם ניתנו למשה דהיינו שהבין חוץ מא' שאי אפשר להשיגו
וזהו (דברים לד ו') ולא ידע איש זה משה הדעת שבגלוי את קבורתו היינו הדעת הנעלם והוא גנוז בדעת הגלוי זהו אפילו משה עצמו אינו .יודע היכן קבור היינו הדעת הנעלם ומשה שרשו שם בהעלם ויודע שאי אפשר להשיגו והבן

"Fifty gates of Understanding were created in the world, and they were all given to Moshe except for one." (Bavli, Nedarim 38a)
We need to understand why the Sages say that "all were given to Moshe except for one". Why not say - forty nine were given to Moshe?
This is because there are two kinds of knowledge – revealed knowledge and hidden knowledge. Revealed knowledge includes everything you know and understand, but through this you can access hidden knowledge.
Think of a person who learns and analyzes something, and while she is engaged in this learning an insight arises in the depths of her mind, so fine that it cannot be articulated in words, it appears and disappears. This thought is very deep and very sweet, but it is so delicate that it remains an intuition rather than developing into words.
Similarly, we seek to comprehend Divinity with conscious processes which lead us to a deeper level – a knowledge that is hidden, that is of the unconscious. At this point you really understand that the ultimate knowledge is too bright to be [consciously] known. This is the meaning of the saying – “the ultimate knowledge is not knowing”… Everyone thinks that this means not knowing anything. If that was true the more ignorant you were the closer you would be to ultimate knowledge. Rather this means that you access that knowledge which is too bright to be comprehended. It is not that you believe [in the existence of such knowledge] – you really enter it…
The fifty gates of understanding are forty-nine gates of conscious knowledge and the fiftieth gate which is “the path unknown to eagles” (Job 28:7), knowledge so bright it is unattainable. Moshe understood this, so he actually did receive all fifty gates, the exception, the fiftieth being his knowledge of what is unattainable
