(ב) מוֹדֶה אֲנִי לְפָנֶֽיךָ מֶֽלֶךְ חַי וְקַיָּם שֶׁהֶחֱזַֽרְתָּ בִּי נִשְׁמָתִי בְּחֶמְלָה, רַבָּה אֱמוּנָתֶֽךָ:

(1) Modeh Ani. The first appearance of the exuberance of life brings with it the transcendent joy of holy rejoicing, which finds the fullness of its glorious expression through thanksgiving. Gratitude, recognizing the goodness of the Lord of the world, Master over all works, who in His goodness gives life to the living, is the storehouse of good. It contains all the substance of a fulfilment of obligation, as well as that spiritual refinement which comes through the fullness of love produced through relationship, and the neshama is illuminated by it, filled with light and joy. The teaching that there is an obligation to give thanks through language, particularly through the expression ‘grateful acknowledgement’ (modeh), is derived from two aspects of meaning in this term. One is thankfulness, todah, which results from gratitude toward the one who does good; the other is confession, hitvadut, which is an acknowledgement of the truth. The two are fit to one another. The first exuberance of life which meets one as they rise from sleep, finding before them a full, new world in all its wholeness and goodness, lifts up the light of the inner intellect to recognize the light and brilliance which lie at the foundation of life. In place of the muddied, physical perspective which is impressed in the nature of flesh, the spirit rises to a clear Divine perspective, to see the soul of the light of the Life-giver of the world in the splendor of its action. And moved by his feelings of thanksgiving, man acknowledges the truth, fulfilling the depths of the truth of spiritual awareness, testifying on all the light of life and existence, that it flows from the spring of goodness and its source, from the source of transcendent lovingkindness, which pours out abundant life to all the many worlds and their creations.

Entonces en nuestro rezo cual es el verdadero significado de esta expresión? Ambas. El agradecimiento se basa en la capacidad de reconocer y ser conscientes, y consecuentemente agradecer por ello.
¿A qué agradecemos y qué nos alegra tanto? Lo principal por lo que nos alegramos y agradecemos es por el alma. Es cierto que el cuerpo también es valioso, todo el mundo también, pero el alma es lo más valioso que poseemos en la vida.
Dos cosas que debemos realizar al levantarnos:
1. Al levantarnos reconocemos que tenemos una pelea interna. Admitimos que nos damos por vencidos y nos aceptamos como somos y estamos agradecidos por ser como somos y por estar aquí.
2. Tenemos la mente y el cuerpo que muchas veces están en discusión por lo que cada una quiere… Dentro de nosotros tenemos una tercera parte, que es nuestra neshama, que es una parte de H’. Todo lo que tenemos que hacer es abrir un pequeño agujero para dejar que esa chispa de H’ entre en nuestro cuerpo y ya la batalla está ganada. Cómo lo logramos? con la estrategia Mode Ani. Con el Mode Ani le damos inicio a nuestro día con la parte sensible, declaramos que nuestra neshama es de H’. A partir de ahí ya estamos caminando con H’. Si fuéramos solo cuerpo o solo alma, unirnos a H’ seria imposible. Pero no lo somos, tenemos la esencia de H’ en nosotros.

Somos los mismos que nos fuimos a dormir anoche, pero ahora estamos llenos de nueva energía, revitalizados.
Según enseña nuestra santa Tradición, el dormir es un estado emparentado con la muerte (Dormir es 1/60 de la muerte). Cuando despertamos reconocemos la bondad y fidelidad del Eterno, que mientras dormíamos recibió el alma que nos prestó al ser concebidos, pero nos la devuelve al despertar. What does “Rabbah emunatekha” mean, and what does it have to do with waking up each morning? It seems to be a superfluous addition to Modeh Ani’s central theme of gratitude.
Moreover, because "emunah" is typically translated as “faith in”, or “reliance upon”, the simple understanding of “Rabbah emunatekha” presents a theological difficulty, as it implies that God has faith in something or someone else. Further, “Rabbah emunatekha,” cannot mean “I have great faith in You,” as the appropriate grammatical form for such a declaration would have been “Rabbah emunati” — "Great is my faith."
