Assignment for Lesson #2: Searching Sefaria's Library
Now that you have had an opportunity to practice searching for texts, source sheets and topics in Sefaria's library, it is time to complete an assignment. Remember that as soon as you save this source sheet, it is shared with the facilitators and there will be no need to hand in anything. Once you click the blue save button in the upper right-hand corner, it will be submitted automatically, and the save button will turn into a blue "share" button. Also, all additions and changes that you make to the sheet will be saved automatically.
Each question will ask you to respond with a short answer. When you are ready to add your answer to the sheet:
  1. Click on the "+" underneath the question.
  2. Click on "Comment".
  3. Type the answer in the comment box.
  4. Click "Add to sheet".
  5. If you would like to edit your answer after you have added it to the sheet, click on the comment. You will see a light blue box surrounding the comment indicating that you are in edit mode. You can now delete, make changes, or use the editing tools that have appeared at the top of the sheet. When you are done editing, simply click outside of the sheet.

3. Search for the subject "repentance" using the search bar. What are the top 2 texts in the search results? (Write the citation - no need to add the text to the sheet.)
4. Using the same subject (repentance), search for two source sheets from the search results that interest you. Write the names of the source sheets in the comment below.
5. Continuing with "repentance" as our subject in the search bar, look at the differences in results when you select "chronological" or "relevance". What are the advantages of each type of search? In what circumstances would you use each? Write a short answer as a comment below.
