The root of the highlighted verb נִרְאָה is ראה with a Niphal stem. On the meaning of this verb when applied to a persona, and on its best rendering in English, see my comment at Gen 12:7.
No “appearance” of the Deity is reported in this narrative. Rather, the activation of the sanctuary’s sacrificial system serves to establish an ongoing communications channel with the Deity. The divine fire that consumes the offerings in verse 24 is the signal that the channel is now open.
