Then the Lord rained upon Sedom and upon ῾Amora brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven; and He overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
וּמֵימְרָא דַיְיָ אָחִית מִיטְרִין דְרַעֲוָא עַל סְדוֹם וְעַל עֲמוֹרָה עַל מְנַת דְיַעַבְדוּן תְּתוּבָא וְלָא עָבְדוּ אֲרוּם אָמְרוּ לָא גְלֵי קֳדָם undefined עוּבְדִין בִּישַׁיָא הָא בְּכֵן נַחְתוּ עֲלֵיהוֹן כִּבְרֵיתָא וְאֵשָׁא מִן קֳדָם מֵימְרָא דַיְיָ מִן שְׁמַיָא וְהָפַךְ יַת קִרְוַויָא הָאִילֵין וְיַת כָּל מֵישְׁרָא וְיַת כָּל יַתְבֵי קִירְוַויָא וְצִמְחָא דְאַרְעָא
And the Word of the Lord had caused showers of favour to descend upon Sedom and Amorah, to the intent that they might work repentance, but they did it not: so that they said, Wickedness is not manifest before the Lord. Behold, then, there are now sent down upon them sulphur and fire from before the Word of the Lord from Heaven. And He overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and the herbage of the earth.
