About This Text

Composed:  c.1250 – c.1450 CE
Kol Bo (“Everything Within”) is a 13th or 14th-century legal work of unknown authorship that draws on earlier sources to address a wide range of topics. It does not appear to be arranged in any particular order or to follow a consistent style; some laws are stated briefly while others are discussed extensively. Legends, kabbalistic discourse, gematria, and responsa are at times interspersed with legal explanations. Siman 51 consists of commentary on the Passover Haggadah. Because of its varied nature, later works often refer to the book as “Sefer haLikkutim,” or “Book of Assorted Material.”
