Based on the teachings of the B’nei Yisaschar, Rav Tzvi Elimelech Shapiro of Dinov zt’l (1783-1841)
(1) For the conductor, to the roses, a testimony by Asaf. A psalm. (2) Give ear, O shepherd of Israel who leads Joseph like a flock! Appear, You who are enthroned on the cherubim, (3) at the head of Ephraim, Binyomin, and Menashe! Awaken Your strength and come to our help!
אמר רבי חנינא בעשרים וחמשה בכסליו נגמרה מלאכת המשכן ועשה מקופל עד אחד בניסן שהקימו משה אחד בניסן... שחשב לערב שמחת המשכן בחודש שנולד בו יצחק שבניסן נולד יצחק... ומעתה הפסיד כסליו שנגמרה מלאכה בו לאו מהו ותשלם אמר הקדוש ברוך הוא עלי לשלם לו מה שילם לו הקב"ה חנוכת בית חשמנאי אף שלמה גמר מלאכת המקדש בחודש מרחשון... ונעשה נעול שנים עשר חודש... והאלקים שחשב לערב שמחת בית המקדש בחודש שנולד בו אברהם... הפסיד מרחשון לאו אמר הקדוש ברוך הוא עלי לשלם לו ותשלם כל המלאכה
Rabbi Chanina said: On the 25th day of Kislev, the building of the Mishkan was completed and it lay dormant until the first of Nissan... so as to combine it with the joy of the month in which Yitzchak was born. Kislev was left out, so Hashem repaid it with the re-dedication of the Beis Hamikdash during the days of the Chashmonaim.
Similarly, Shlomo completed building the Beis Hamikdash in the month of Cheshvan... and it remained locked up for twelve months... for Hashem wanted to wait until Tishrei, the month in which Avraham was born. Cheshvan then lost out, and Hashem said He would repay it [with the building of the third Beis Hamikdash].
וְרָחֵל עֲקָרָה, אָמַר רַבִּי יִצְחָק, רָחֵל הָיְתָה עִקָּרוֹ שֶׁל בַּיִת, כְּמָה שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר: וְרָחֵל עֲקָרָה, עִקָּרָה רָחֵל.
"And Rachel was barren," said Rabbi Yitzchak, Rachel was the main part of the household, as it says, "And Rachel was barren (akarah)" - It's main part (ikrah) was Rachel.
את מצא כל הניסים שעשה הקדוש ברוך הוא לישראל ועתיד לעשות להם בזכות השבטים אף בית המקדש עתיד להיבנות בזכות השבטים שנאמר ירושלים הבנויה (תהלים קכ"ב ג') מה כתב אחריו ששם עלו שבטים (שם ד') וכן כל מה שברא הקב"ה בזכות השבטים (בראשית) [ברא] אתה מוצא שנים עשר חודש בשנה שנים עשר מזלות ברקיע שתים עשרה שעות ליום ושתים עשרה שעות לילה
One finds that all miracles that Hashem performed for Israel and that will be performed in the future are in the merit of the tribes. Also, the Temple will be built in the merit of the tribes, as it says (Psalms 123:3) "Jerusalem that is built... for there the tribes ascended." Also, everything Hashem created is in the merit of the tribes. One finds that there are twelve months in the year, twelve constellations in the sky, twelve hours in the day and twelve hours at night.
