Does God know the answers to the questions that God is asking? If we don't bring our assumptions about God into our reading of Genesis 3:8-13, does it seem like God knows all?
Here we might question God's omniscience once again. If God knew all, why would God regret God's own actions? We also might question God's benevolence here. If this was God's mistake, why is the plan to wipe out all of humanity except for Noah and his family?
Here God tells Abraham that Sodom and Gomorrah will be destroyed. Abraham begins to argue. If God was all-knowing, wouldn't God be able to tell Abraham exactly how many righteous folks were residing in the cities? Furthermore, we see Abraham directly protesting and arguing with God. Abraham, the first Jew, calls into question his own assumptions about God. "Shall not the Judge of all the earth deal justly?" Perhaps this can inspire us to question our own assumptions about God.
