בְּרֵאשִׁ֖ית

בְּרֵאשִׁ֖ית בָּרָ֣א אֱלֹהִ֑ים אֵ֥ת הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם וְאֵ֥ת הָאָֽרֶץ׃

When God began to create heaven and earth—

טִפְּחָ֖א‎ מֻנַּ֣ח‎ אֶתְנַחְתָּ֑א‎ מֵרְכָ֥א‎ טִפְּחָ֖א מֵרְכָ֥א‎ סוֹף פָּסוּק.‎

וְהָאָ֗רֶץ הָיְתָ֥ה תֹ֙הוּ֙ וָבֹ֔הוּ וְחֹ֖שֶׁךְ עַל־פְּנֵ֣י תְה֑וֹם וְר֣וּחַ אֱלֹהִ֔ים מְרַחֶ֖פֶת עַל־פְּנֵ֥י הַמָּֽיִם׃

the earth being unformed and void, with darkness over the surface of the deep and a wind from God sweeping over the water—

רְבִ֗יעַ‎ מֵרְכָ֥א‎ פַּשְׁטָא֙‎ זָקֵף קָטָ֔ן‎ טִפְּחָ֖א‎ מֻנַּ֣ח‎ אֶתְנַחְתָּ֑א‎ מֻנַּ֣ח זָקֵף קָטָ֔ן‎‎ טִפְּחָ֖א‎ מֵרְכָ֥א‎ סוֹף פָּסוּק‎.

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֖ים יְהִ֣י א֑וֹר וַֽיְהִי־אֽוֹר׃

God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

מֵרְכָ֥א‎ טִפְּחָ֖א‎ מֻנַּ֣ח‎ אֶתְנַחְתָּ֑א‎ סוֹף פָּסוּק‎.

וַיַּ֧רְא אֱלֹהִ֛ים אֶת־הָא֖וֹר כִּי־ט֑וֹב וַיַּבְדֵּ֣ל אֱלֹהִ֔ים בֵּ֥ין הָא֖וֹר וּבֵ֥ין הַחֹֽשֶׁךְ׃

God saw that the light was good, and God separated the light from the darkness.

דַּרְגָּ֧א‎ תְּבִ֛יר‎ טִפְּחָ֖א‎ אֶתְנַחְתָּ֑א‎ מֻנַּ֣ח‎ זָקֵף קָטָ֔ן‎ טִפְּחָ֖א‎ מֵרְכָ֥א‎ טִפְּחָ֖א‎ סוֹף פָּסוּק‎.

וַיִּקְרָ֨א אֱלֹהִ֤ים ׀ לָאוֹר֙ י֔וֹם וְלַחֹ֖שֶׁךְ קָ֣רָא לָ֑יְלָה וַֽיְהִי־עֶ֥רֶב וַֽיְהִי־בֹ֖קֶר י֥וֹם אֶחָֽד׃ {פ}

God called the light Day and called the darkness Night. And there was evening and there was morning, a first day.

קַדְמָ֨א מַהְפַּ֤ךְ פַּשְׁטָא֙‎‎ זָקֵף קָטָ֔ן‎ טִפְּחָ֖א מֻנַּ֣ח‎ אֶתְנַחְתָּ֑א‎ מֵרְכָ֥א ‎‎טִפְּחָ֖א‎ מֵרְכָ֥א‎ סוֹף פָּסוּק.
