Regarding a vegetable of chullin [produce or food that is not sanctified, and is permitted for general consumption] which was cooked with oil of terumah, and a tevul yom touched it, Rabbi Elazar ben Yehudah of Bartota says in the name of Rabbi Yehoshua: he has invalidated it all. Rabbi Akiva says in his name: he has only invalidated the part which he touched.
Anything that invalidates terumah [a portion of a crop which must be given to a priest, and can only be consumed by priests or their household] renders the hands to be of a secondary [degree of] impurity. One hand renders its fellow [hand] impure, according to Rabbi Yehoshua. And the Sages say: something [of a] secondary [degree of impurity] cannot render something to be [of a] secondary [degree of impurity]. He said to them: Are not sacred scriptures [of a] secondary [degree of impurity], and they render hands to be impure [with a secondary degree of impurity]!? They said to him: we cannot infer Words of Torah [i.e. laws in the written Torah] from Words of Scholars [i.e. laws in the oral Torah], nor Words of Scholars from Words of Torah, nor Words of Scholars from Words of Scholars.
Rabbi Yehoshua ben Levi said: In the future, the Holy One, blessed be He, will bequeath to each and every righteous person three hundred and ten worlds, as the verse says, (Proverbs 8:21), "To bequeath substance [literally: 'yesh,' the numerical value of which is three-hundred and ten] to My loved ones, and I shall fill their treasuries." Rabbi Shimon ben Chalafta said: The Holy One, blessed be He, found no vessel that can [sufficiently] hold the blessing for Israel, save for peace, as the verse says, (Psalms 29:11) "Hashem will give strength to His nation, Hashem will bless His nation with peace."
