  1. מנחות מ״א ב:ג׳
    מיתיבי טלית אין פוטר בה אלא מינה טלית שכולה תכלת מביא תכלת וד"א ותולה בה וקלא אילן לא יביא ואם הביא כשר
    Menachot 41b:3
    The Gemara raises an objection from a baraita: A cloak is exempted only by strings of its own type. In the case of a cloak that is made entirely of sky-blue wool, one brings sky-blue [tekhelet] strings and something else, i.e., strings of a different color, and attaches them to the cloak. And he may not bring strings dyed with indigo along with the strings dyed with tekhelet. But if he brought strings dyed with indigo together with the strings dyed with tekhelet, the ritual fringes are fit.

    וְיִהְיֶה אֶחָד מִשְּׁמוֹנָה הַחוּטִים חוּט תְּכֵלֶת וְהַשִּׁבְעָה לְבָנִים:

    Mishneh Torah, Fringes 1:6

    One of the eight strands should be techelet; the other seven should be white.

    (א) ויהיה אחד משמונה החוטין חוט תכלת והשבעה לבנים. כתב הראב"ד ז"ל טעות הוא זה אלא השנים של תכלת והששה לבנים עכ"ל:

    The Rambam has made a mistake on this; rather two of the eight (i.e. a folded over one of four from end to end) should be techelet and the other six should be white.

  4. שולחן ערוך, אורח חיים ט׳:ה׳

    (ה) י"א שצריך לעשו' הציצי' מצבע הטלית והמדקדקים נוהגים כן: הגה והאשכנזים אין נוהגים לעשות הציציות רק לבנים אף בבגדים צבועים ואין לשנות [ת"ה סימן מ"ו]:

    Shulchan Arukh, Orach Chayim 9:5

    (5) Some say that it's necessary that the colour of the tzitzit and tallit are the same, and those who are particular are accustomed to practice this way. REMA: and Ashkenazim are accustomed to make only white tzitzit, even for coloured garments, and there is no need to change [the custom]

  5. משנה ברורה ט׳:ט״ו

    (טו) (טו) מצבע הטלית - משום זה א-לי ואנוהו ויש מפרשים משום דבעינן בזה ממין הכנף:

    Mishnah Berurah 9:15

    (15) From the [same] color as the טלית - Because of [the precept of] "This is my God and I will glorify Him" (Exodus 15:2). And there are those who say the reason is because of the requirement that [the material used for the ציצית strings must be from] the same type [of material] as the corner (Menachot 39b).

    (טז) (טז) אף בבגדים צבועים - מ"מ ראוי למדקדק לעשות דוקא ד' כנפות או ט"ק לבן כדי שיהיה יצא ידי הכל כשיעשה הציצית לבנים גם משום דכתיב ולבושיה כתלג חיור ומה ששפת הבגד כעין תכלת בטליתות שלנו בתר עיקר הבגד אזלינן:

    Mishnah Berurah 9:16

    (16) Even for colored garments - Nevertheless, it is fitting for [one who is] particular to specifically make the four corners or the small טלית white in order to fulfill all [opinions] when he makes the ציצית strings white... and also because it is written "His garment is white like snow" (Daniel 7:9). And [regarding] what [we find] that the edge of the garment is like [the color of] תכלת on our טליתות, [this does not pose a problem since it's] after the main [portion] of the garment [that] we go after (and the colored portion here is not the main part of the garment).

    (ט) חָזֵ֣ה הֲוֵ֗ית עַ֣ד דִּ֤י כׇרְסָוָן֙ רְמִ֔יו וְעַתִּ֥יק יוֹמִ֖ין יְתִ֑ב לְבוּשֵׁ֣הּ ׀ כִּתְלַ֣ג חִוָּ֗ר וּשְׂעַ֤ר רֵאשֵׁהּ֙ כַּעֲמַ֣ר נְקֵ֔א כׇּרְסְיֵהּ֙ שְׁבִבִ֣ין דִּי־נ֔וּר גַּלְגִּלּ֖וֹהִי נ֥וּר דָּלִֽק׃
    Daniel 7:9
    (9) As I looked on,
    Thrones were set in place,
    And the Ancient of Days took His seat.
    His garment was like white snow,
    And the hair of His head was like lamb’saOr “clean.” wool.
    His throne was tongues of flame;
    Its wheels were blazing fire.
