- Esther represents the force of inspiration that communicates the abstract ideals of the intellect to the heart, the center of the imagination and emotion. From there, the heart can direct the behavior of the body.
- Achashverosh represents a heart, which can either be wise or foolish depending on what is influencing it.
- Mordochai represents the source of the intellect.
- The Zohar communicates this by implicitly aligning Mordochai with the Sun, Esther with the light of the Moon, and Achashverosh with the moon itself.
- The "royal clothes" of Esther are the Kernels of wisdom and understanding she communicates to the heart, Ashashverosh. The Septre of the king represents his bond with higher wisdom.
- The clothes of Mordochai is the wisdom itelf, as Mordochai is the Sun, and the clothes are the light of the sun.
The sun also rises, and the sun goes down, and hastens to its place where it rises again.
The wind goes towards the south, and veers to the north; round and round goes the wind, and on its circuits the wind returns.
דָּבָר אַחֵר, מְקוֹמוֹ תַּתָּאָה מַמָּשׁ. שׁוֹאֵף נְהִירוּ מִלְּעֵילָא, וְזוֹרֵחַ הוּא שָׁם, דְּנָהֵיר תַּמָּן לְסִיהֲרָא,
וְדָא יְהוֹשֻׁעַ, דְּאִתְנְהֵיר מִנֵּיהּ, דִּכְתִיב וְנָתַתָּ מֵהוֹדְךָ עָלָיו. וְאִתְעָרוּ, פְּנֵי משֶׁה כִּפְנֵי חַמָּה וכו'.
הוֹלֵךְ אֶל דָּרוֹם, בְּקַדְמִיתָא כַּד הֲוָה בְּעָלְמָא, כָּל סִטְרִין אִתְנְהִירוּ כִּדְאֲמָרָן.
אֲבָל הַשְׁתָּא כַּד אִסְתַּלַּק, בִּמְקוֹמוֹ זוֹרֵחַ וְלָא יַתִּיר.
Another thing "It's place" the lower one literally. "hastens" - to give light from above. "Where is rises again" That there the Moon lights up.
This is Joshua, which is lit from it, as it is written "And give from your glory on him.' And they said "The face of Moses is like the face of the Sun."
"And the [wind] goes to the south" At first, when it was in the world, all the sides lit up.
But now, when it is hidden, "in it's place it rises" and not more.
וּשְׁמָא דִילֵיהּ אִיקְּרֵי זָהָב יְרַקְרַק, וְרָזָא דָא אוֹקְמוּהָ חַבְרַיָיא, אֶסְתֵּר יְרַקְרֹקֶת הָיְתָה. גַּוָּון אֶתְרוֹג, וְכוֹלָּא חַד.
His name is called "gold green" And this is alluded to what our friends have said "Esther was green/yellow." The collor of an etrog. And it's all one.
אָהַדְרוּ רִבִּי אֲחָא וְרִבִּי חִיָיא, אָמְרוּ, הָא וַדַאי עִדָּן רְעוּתָא, דְּאִתְעָרוּתָא דְּכְּנֶסֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל (עדן) הוּא לְאִתְחַבְּרָא בְּמַלְכָּא קַדִּישָׁא, אָמַר רִבִּי אֲחָא, וַדַאי, לָא (אתחברת) אֲנְגִידָת לָהּ כְּנֶסֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּקוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא אֶלָּא מִגּוֹ שִׁירָתָא, מִגּוֹ שְׁבָחָא דִּילָהּ לְגַבֵּיהּ.
עַד דְּאָתֵי צַפְרָא, וְאוֹשִׁיט לָהּ מַלְכָּא חוּטָא דְּחֶסֶד, וְרָזָא דְּמִלָּה כְּמָה דְּאַמְרִינָן, (אסתר ה׳:ב׳) וַיּוֹשֶׁט הַמֶּלֶךְ לְאֶסְתֵּר אֶת שַׁרְבִיט הַזָּהָב אֲשֶׁר בְּיָדוֹ וְגוֹ'. וְלָא תֵּימָא דְּלָהּ בִּלְחוֹדָהָא אוֹשִׁיט לָהּ מַלְכָּא דָּא, אֶלָּא לָהּ, וּלְכָל אִינּוּן דְּמִתְחַבְּרָן בָּה. תָּא וְנִתְחַבֵּר כַּחֲדָא. יָתְבוּ.
Rabbi Acha and Rabbi Chiya returned TO THE HOUSE and said, Surely it is time of goodwill of the awakening of the Congregation of Yisrael to unite with the Holy King. Rabbi Acha said, Surely the Congregation of Yisrael united with the Holy One, blessed be He, only by singing and by her praise for Him.
Before dawn, the King holds out to her a thread of Chesed. The secret of this is said in the verse, "and the king held out to Esther the golden scepter that was in his hand" (Ester 5:2). Do not say that the King holds out to her alone but to her and to all those who join her. Let us come together. They sat down.
מְנָלָן. דִּכְתִּיב, (אסתר ה׳:א׳) וַיְהִי בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁי וַתִּלְבַּשׁ אֶסְתֵּר מַלְכוּת, אִתְלַבְּשַׁת בְּהַהוּא דִּיּוּקְנָא דְּהַהוּא עָלְמָא. מַלְכוּת: דָּא רוּחָא דְּקוּדְשָׁא, דְּהָא מַלְכוּת שְׁמַיָא, נָשִׁיב רוּחָא, מֵהַהוּא רוּחָא דַּאֲוִירָא דְּהַהוּא עָלְמָא, וְאִתְלַבְּשָׁא בֵּיהּ אֶסְתֵּר.
Since it is written: "Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal (lit. 'of Malchut') apparel" (Ester 5:1), MEANING THAT she was robed in the fashion of that world, Malchut, WHICH MEANS HERE, the Holy Spirit. For the Kingdom of Heaven, blows a wind (spirit) from the spirit of the air of that world, and Esther was robed in it.
וְכַד עָאלַת קַמֵּי מַלְכָּא אֲחַשְׁוִרוֹשׁ, וְחָמָא הַהוּא לְבוּשָׁא דִּנְהוֹרָא, דִּיוּקְנָאָה אִדְמִי לְמַלְאַךְ אֱלֹקִים. פַּרְחָה מִנֵּיהּ נִשְׁמְתָא לְפוּם שַׁעֲתָא.
מָרְדְּכַי אוּף הָכִי, דִּכְתִּיב (אסתר ח׳:ט״ו) וּמָרְדְּכַי יָצָא מִלִּפְנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ בִּלְבוּשׁ מַלְכוּת. לְבוּשׁ מַלְכוּת, ודַּאי, דִּיּוּקְנָא דְּהַהוּא עָלְמָא. וְעַל דָּא כְּתִיב, (אסתר ט׳:ג׳) כִּי נָפַל פַּחַד מָרְדְּכַי עֲלֵיהֶם. פַּחַד מָרְדְּכַי, וְלָא פַּחַד אֲחַשְׁוִרוֹשׁ. אָמַר רִבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן, כַּמָה מְתִיקִין אִינּוּן מִלִּין, זַכָּאָה חוּלָקִי, וְהָא יְדַעְנָא דְּצַדִּיקַיָּיא (ס"א בהאי) בְּהַהוּא עָלְמָא, מִתְלַבְּשָׁן בִּלְבוּשָׁא דְּאִקְרֵי לְבוּשׁ מַלְכוּת, וְהָכִי הוּא וַדַּאי.
230. When she entered into the presence of King Ahasuerus and he saw that robe of light, her form seemed to him like an angel of Elohim, and he lost his soul for an instant. Mordechai too WAS ENSHROUDED IN THE ROBES OF THAT WORLD, as it is written: "And Mordechai went out from the presence of the king in royal (lit. 'of Malchut') apparel" (Ester 8:15), verily the apparel of Malchut that is the form of that world. Therefore, it is written: "Because the fear of Mordechai had fallen upon them" (Ester 9:3), the fear of Mordechai and not the fear of Ahasuerus. Rabbi Shimon said, How sweet are these matters. Blessed is my lot. I am aware that the just in this world get shrouded with that robe that is called the robe of Malchut, and that is definitely so.
