(32) I will make the land desolate, so that your enemies who settle in it shall be appalled by it. (33) And you I will scatter among the nations, and I will unsheath the sword against you. Your land shall become a desolation and your cities a ruin. (34) Then shall the land make up for its sabbath years throughout the time that it is desolate and you are in the land of your enemies; then shall the land rest and make up for its sabbath years.

(21) And later generations will ask—the children who succeed you, and foreigners who come from distant lands and see the plagues and diseases that יהוה has inflicted upon that land, (22) all its soil devastated by sulfur and salt, beyond sowing and producing, no grass growing in it, just like the upheaval of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which יהוה overthrew in fierce anger—
The Ramban (in the 12th century) on Leviticus 26:32:
That which He stated here, “and your enemies that shall dwell therein shall be desolate in it,” constitutes a good tiding, proclaiming that during all our exiles, our Land will not accept our enemies.
Maharsha R. Shmuel Eliezer Aidels (1555-1631)
As long as Israel does not dwell on its Land, the Land does not give of her produce, as she is accustomed. When she will begin to reflourish, however, and give of her fruits in abundance, this is a clear sign that the end — the time of Redemption — is approaching, when all of Israel will return to their Land.
In the 1260s, Ramban, writing to his son from Eretz Yisrael, described:
“What shall I tell you concerning the condition of the Land . . . She is greatly forsaken and her desolation is great . . . That which is of greater holiness is more desolate than that which is of lesser holiness. Yerushalyim is most desolate and destroyed.”
Mark Twain in 1867 in his book “Innocents Abroad” (chapter 56):
Of all the lands there are for dismal scenery, I think Palestine must be the prince. The hills are barren, they are dull of color, they are un-picturesque in shape. The valleys are unsightly deserts tinged with a feeble vegetation that has an expression about it of being sorrowful and despondent. The Dead Sea and the Sea of Galilee sleep in the midst of a vast stretch of hill and plain wherein the eye rests upon no pleasant tint…It is a hopeless, dreary, heart-broken land.
Sir John William Dosson in “Modern Science in Bible Lands” London (1888)
Until today no people has succeeded in establishing national dominion in the land of Israel… No national unity or spirit of nationalism has acquired any hold there. The mixed multitude of itinerant tribes that managed to settle there did so on lease, as temporary residents. It seems that they await the return of the permanent residents of the land.
Ramban:
This also is a great proof and assurance to us, for in the whole inhabited part of the world one cannot find such a good and large Land which was always lived in and yet is as ruined as it is [today], for since the time that we left it, it has not accepted any nation or people, they all try to settle it, but to no avail.

(8) But you, O mountains of Israel, shall yield your produce and bear your fruit for My people Israel, for their return is near. (9) For I will care for you: I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown. (10) I will settle a large population on you, the whole House of Israel; the towns shall be resettled, and the ruined sites rebuilt. (11) I will multiply human and animal upon you, and they shall increase and be fertile, and I will resettle you as you were formerly, and will make you more prosperous than you were at first. And you shall know that I am GOD.

If Israel’s God did not exist, you would expect the Jews to be no more or less signiicant than any other ethnic group of comparable size. However, if Israel’s God did exist, you would expect them to have noth- ing less than a worldwide inluence. Which option is best supported by the evidence? Are the Jews ordinary or exceptional?

Some Smart Jews who have made an impact : Albert Einstein, Marx, Freud
Mark Twain:
If the statistics are right, the Jews constitute but one
percent of the human race…Properly the Jew ought
hardly to be heard of. He is as prominent on the planet
as any other people, and his commercial importance is
extravagantly out of proportion to the smallness of his
bulk. His contributions to the world’s list of great names
in literature, science, art, music, finance, medicine, and
abstruse learning are also away out of proportion to the
weakness of his numbers

(65) Yet even among those nations you shall find no peace, nor shall your foot find a place to rest. יהוה will give you there an anguished heart and eyes that pine and a despondent spirit.

Talmudic Prophesy: When Germany and Rome Join Hands
Kabbalistic Prophesy: Ishmael in the holy land

Germamya of Edom, i.e., Germany, which is near the land of Edom, i.e., Rome. As, if the Germans would go forth, they would destroy the entire world. And Rabbi Ḥama Bar Ḥanina said: There are three hundred young princes with crowns tied to their heads in Germamya of Edom, and there are three hundred and sixty-five chieftains [marzavnei] in Rome. Every day these go out to battle against those, and one of them is killed, and they are preoccupied with appointing a new king in his place. Since neither side is united, neither side is able to achieve a decisive victory. It is these wars between Rome and the Germanic tribes that act as a muzzle upon Esau-Edom-Rome and prevent it from becoming too strong.

According to this oral prophecy, Germany's 300 kingdoms would not unite because they fight the Romans, and once they'd stop fighting them, they'd destroy the world. The "Holy" Roman Empire ruled over more than 300 kingdoms of Germans prior to 1806. Then came Napoleon and conquered the Germans. As a result, The Germans united. In 1882, Italy joined forces with Germany and Austria-Hungary, so they officially stopped fighting. In 1914 Germany started WW1, which caused the death of over 16M people (about 9M of them were civilians). In that war Italy actually didn't help Germany even though they made a pact, but a few years later, Germany started WW2 with the help of Italy, which caused the death of 50M-85M people, which basically means they destroyed the world.
Please notice how this prediction is specific - specifying the country's name, unguessable - written more than 1000 years before it happened, and risky - the destruction of the world by Germany was given a condition - stop fighting the Romans and uniting, making it possible for the prediction to be contradicted. A perfect example of a real prophecy.
Zohar: (Vaera, page 32):
And in the future, the children of Ishmael are destined to rule over the Holy Land for a long time when it is empty from anything, like their circumcision which is empty and imperfect. And they will prevent the children of Israel from returning to their place until the reward for the merit of the children of Ishmael reaches completion.
The children of Ishmael [i.e. the Arab nations] will cause great wars in the world and the children of Edom will gather against them and wage war against them, one on the sea, one on the dry land, and one near Jerusalem. And they [the children of Edom]will rule over them [the children of Ishmael], but the Holy Land will not be given over to the children of Edom. [The children of Edom is the Christian West, for Edom is Rome (see Num. 24:19, Rashi) and Rome signifies Greece-Rome and the Roman Catholic Church, the foundations of Western Civilization]
At that time, a nation from the end of the earth will be aroused against evil Rome and wage war against it for three months. Nations will gather there, and [Rome] will fall into their hands, until all the children of Edom will gather against it [that nation] from all the corners of the world. Then G‑d will be roused against them. This is the meaning of: "For G‑d has a sacrifice in Botzrah".
