Jewish History with Sam Aronow

DISCLAIMER

As a disclaimer, Sam Aronow is a secular Jew who agrees with the mainstream academic consensus among secular historians that the Exodus never happened, that the Israelites were just native Canaanites who were originally polytheistic, and that the Torah was redacted from independent and contradictory sources composed by Canaanite/Israelite polytheists JEDP. Let me just clarify, I do not espouse these views, I hold to the position that the Torah is not only historically reliable containing eyewitness information but that it is indeed divine revelation, and despite the naysayers, there are good scholarly reasons for thinking this.

With that being said, despite Sam's mistaken views on Israel's early origins, I do believe he affords some interesting historical insights from a broader view of Jewish history. So here's a collection I put together of his videos because they're very well done and are easy for laymen to understand and they cover some important information in a simple, short, sweet and concise manner. I will also comment to address a few points.

In this video Sam Aronow makes the claim that Jacob (Israel) and the Twelve Sons are an origin myth. However, what minimalists and JEDP proponents won't tell you is that not only is there archaeological evidence for the presence of a large population of Hebrew slaves in the Nile Delta region and a mass migration to Canaan, but there's also evidence for a historical Joseph and the existence of Twelve brothers and Twelve Tribes as well.
