(25) Thus said Hashem: If not for my "Bris", night and day, the laws of the heavens and earth, I would not have placed.
Why is the world dependent on it?
(א) עוד אמר דוד המלך ע"ה, "אני יראתי מתוך שמחתי ושמחתי מתוך יראתי ואהבתי עלתה על כלם. לפיכך, כרת לי הקב"ה ברית, שאני אהיה בקי במקרא ובמשנה בהלכות ובאגדות." שנאמר "כי לא כן ביתי עם אל ברית עולם שם לי ערוכה בכל ושמורה... (שמואל ב כג)". ואין ברית אלא תורה שנאמר בריתי היתה אתו החיים והשלום (מלאכי ב) ערוכה בכל במקרא במשנה בהלכות באגדות ושמורה שיהיו דברי תורה שמורה בי לעולם ולעולמי עולמים.
"כי כל ישעי וכל חפץ כי לא יצמיח" מכאן אמרו כל ת"ח שמרבה בעסק התורה ואינו מתפרנס הרבה סימן יפה לו ואם תאמר אם הקב"ה אוהב תורתו למה אינו מעשרו הוי אומר שאם יעשיר יפשע מדברי תורה

The last part of the Pasuk above: "For all of my salvation, all of my possessions, will they not sprout?" [The midrash reads this as a statement: "he should make them not sprout" and explains]: Any Talmid Chacham who spends his energy on Torah and does not make a great living, this is a good sign. Maybe you will ask, if G-d loves him why not make him wealthy? It is teaching us because wealth will make him leave the words of the Torah.
