How Do I Start Learning on Sefaria?
Welcome to Sefaria!
The Sefaria library contains hundreds of books in a wide variety of categories written over thousands of years from locations around the world. This sheet can help you get started on your Sefaria learning journey.
The Text Page/Home Page
Sefaria’s text page lists all of the categories of books in the library. Click on a category to see a list and short description of all of the books within that category. Clicking on the name of a book will open it.
Learning Schedules
On the right side of the text page is the Learning Schedules section. Here you will find links to the weekly Torah portion, Haftarah selection, and daily page of Talmud learning according to the Daf Yomi schedule.
Click “All Learning Schedules” to access eleven other learning schedules including Tanakh Yomi and Daily Rambam.

Going Deeper into the Text
Once you have opened a text, there are several types of resources available to deepen your learning.
  • Interconnected texts - Books in the library are linked to other books which either quote them or they quote. For more information see Interconnected Texts.
  • Web pages - Sefaria’s linker connects web posts to Sefaria when they quote a text. Websites such as My Jewish Learning, Rabbi Sacks, and the Virtual Beit Midrash use the linker and their posts are linked to the texts that they quote. The posts take the text that you are reading in various directions and provide interesting food for thought. For more information click here.
  • Sheets - User created content that contains the primary text. Sefaria learners from a wide range of backgrounds and viewpoints share their thoughts on sheets that they have created and published. Click here for more information.
Happy Learning!
