A psalm for a housewarming, by David. I acclaim You, Elohai. You set me free so that my foes could not gloat at my troubles. Adonai Elohai, I pleaded with You and You healed me. Adonai, You lifted me from Sh'ol; from the brink of the grave You brought me back to Life. Fellow devotees, join me in my song. Remembering what is sacred, let's give thanks. For a moment, I felt You angry, then I felt Life and acceptance. I wept as I fell asleep, but awoke singing. You, Adonai, made my mountain firm. I thought I was safe; that I wouldn't ever stumble. But when You hid Your face from me, I panicked. I call to You, Adonai! I plead with You, my Lord! What use is there in my death to go down to ruin? Can dust appreciate You? Can it discern Your Truth? Listen, Adonai, be kind to me! Adonai, please help me. You turned my grieving into a dance of reconciliation. You took off my rags and wrapped me in joy. Now, Your Glory is my song. I won't hold back. Adonai Elohai, I will ever be grateful!

Blessed One, You talked the Worlds into being. What a blessing are You! Blessed One, Your Word makes for becoming. What a blessing is Your Name. Blessed One, You decree and sustain. Blessed One, all beginnings are Yours! Blessed One, Your compassion enwombs the earth. Blessed One, Your caring is kind to all creatures. Blessed One, You are generous in rewarding those who respect Your creation. Blessed One, ever alive, ever confirming existence. Blessed One, You make us free, You rescue us! When we hear Your Name we offer blessing. Blessed are You, Adonaai Eloheinu, Sovereign of the Universe, the Almighty, the merciful Parent, Who is verbally extolled by Their people, praised and glorified in the languages of Their pious ones, and of Their servants, and through the songs of David, Your servant. We will extoll You, Adonai Eloheinu, with praises and psalms; we will exalt, praise, and glorify You; we will mention Your Name, and proclaim You-- our Sovereign, Eloheinu. Unique One, Life of the worlds, Sovereign, praised and glorified forever is Their great Name. Blessed are You, Adonai, Sovereign, Who is extolled with praises.
I bless You, Holy One, who spoke and the world came into being. I bless the act of creation that created me and all I know. We are here! The world is here! When I am critical of this place and of myself, I remember that I am a vibration from Your speech. I remember that this whole world is Your poem and we who breathe are words on Your page. My mouth, my tongue, human language and all sound are figures of Your speech. You are the life of all the worlds, all mysteries, and all time. You are the life that breathes in me, even when I feel too tight for breath. I bless You, Holy One, Who spoke and the world came into being.

Give thanks to Adonai, proclaim Their Name; make Their deeds known among all people. Sing to Them, compose songs to Them, speak of all Their wonders. Take pride in uttering Their holy Name, let the heart rejoice of those who seek Adonai. Search for Adonai and Their might, seek Their Presence continually. Remember the wonders They performed, Their miracles and the laws from Their mouth. You, the seed of Yis'ra-Eil Their servant, children of Ya-akov, Their chosen ones. They are Adonai Eloheinu; the entire each is governed by Their laws. Remember Their covenant forever-- the word They commanded to a thousand generations-- which They made as a treaty with Av'raham, and which was Their oath to Yitz'chak. They established it for Ya-akov as a statute, for Yis'ra-Eil as an everlasting covenant. Saying, to you I will give the Land of K'na-an, the portion of your inheritance. When you were only few in number-- very few, and strangers in it; they wandered from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people. They permitted no one to oppress them, and aadmonished rulers for their sakes. Do not touch My anointed ones, and do not harm My prophets. Sing to Adonai, all the earth, proclaim Their deliverance from day to day. Recount Their glory among the nations, Their wonders among all the peoples. For Adonai is great and most extolled; awesome are They above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols, whereas Adonai made the heavens.

Beauty and splendor are before Them, strength and joy are in Their Presence. Give to Adonai, families of peoples-- give to Adonai glory and might. Give to Adonai the glory due Their Name, bring an offering and come before Them, prostrate yourselves before Adonai in the splendor of holiness. Tremble before Them, all peoples of the earth, for They established the inhabited world so that it cannot be moved. The heavens rejoice, the earth will exult, and they will proclaim among the nations: Adonai has begun Their reign. The sea and its fullness will roar; the field and all that is in it will jubilate. Then the trees of the forest will sing with joy, receding before Adonai when They come to judge the earth. Give thanks to Adonai, for They are good, for Their kindness is everlasting. And say. "Deliver us, God of our deliverance; gather us and save us from the nations, to give thanks to your holy Name, to be extolled in Your praise." Blessed is Adonai, the God of Yis'ra-Eil for all eternity, and all the people said, "Amen," and they praised Adonai. Exalt Adonai Eloheinu, and prostrate yourselves at Their footstool. Holy are They! Exalt Adonai Eloheinu, and prostrate yourselves at Their holy mountain, for Adonai Eloheinu is holy.

Deliver Your people and bless Your inheritance, tend them and uplift them forever. Our soul yearned for Adonai, our help and our shield are They. For in Them our hearts will rejoice, for in Their holy Name we trusted. May Your kindness, Adonai, be upon us, as we have waited for You. Show us Your kindness, Adonai, and grant us Your deliverance. Arise-- come to our aid, and redeem us for the sake of Your kindness. I am Adonai Elohecha, Who brought you up from the land of Mitz'rayim; open your mouth wide, and I will fill it. Fortunate is the people whose lot is thus, fortunate is the people for whom Adonai is their God. In Your loving-kindness I trust, My heart will exult in Your deliverance; I will sing to Adonai, for They dealt kindly with me.

This is how you sing thanksgiving to Elohim. You join the symphony of the whole Earth. In your gratefulness, You meet Them. Voices echo joy in God's halls. In giving thanks, we engage Their blessings. We meet Their goodness, here and now; Their encouragement from generation to generation. You are filled with joy serving Adonai's purpose. You sound your own song as you do it. Certain that Adonai is Elohim, we know that we are brought forth from Them-- both God's companions and Their flock. Enter into God's Presence singing your own song, in grateful appreciation. Thank you God, You are all blessing. In this world, You are goodness. Yes, grace itself. This is the trust we bequeath the next generation.

Adonai, fill our world to reflect Your nobility, so You will find joy in Your creation. In all circumstances, we adore Your Name forever. Those who come from the East, and those who come from the West, celebrate Your Name in their ways. Adonai transcends all national bigotries. Their glory is what concerns Heaven. Adonai-- this is Your Name forever. Adonai-- is the watch word, each generation passes to the next. Adonai, You have established Your Sh'chinnah in the Heavens. Your domain encompasses all there is. So, Heaven is glad, Earth is happy, and all nations agree that You are in charge. Adonai, You are now; Adonai, You were then; Adonai, You will be constant for ever and all time. Adonai, Your reign is eternal. Earth is Yours alone. No nation can claim her. Adonai, You void the designs of tyrants. Adonai, You block their schemes. People brood over so many desires. It is Your design, Adonai, that prevails. What You, Adonai, design, lasts through all time. What You propose works for many generations. You speak, and it becomes real. You command, and it comes into existence. You, Adonai, chose Tziyyon. You wish to make Your seat there. You, Adonai, have singled out Ya-akov. Yis'ra-Eil is Your treasure. You, Adonai, will not desert Your people. You will not forsake Your heritage. Because You are caring, You will forgive sin. You will not destroy. Time and time again, You will subdue Your wrath and not let Your fury rise. Adonai, please help, Sovereign. Answer us on the same day, when we cry out.

Fortunate are those who dwell in Your house; may they continue to praise You, selah. Fortunate is the people whose lot is thus; fortunate is the people for whom Adonai is their God! A psalm of David. I will extol You, Elohai, the Sovereign, and I will bless Your Name for ever and all time. Every day I will bless You, and I will acclaim Your Name forever and all time. Great is Adonai and much acclaimed, Their greatness is unfathomable. Generation to generation will laud Your works, and Your greatness they will tell. Let me meditate on the majestic glory of Your splendor and Your wondrousness. Of Your mighty deeds people will speak, and I will retell Your greatness. Remembering Your great goodness, they will celebrate, and will shout of Your righteousness. Adonai is merciful and compassionate, slow to anger and vast in kindness. Adonai is good to all, and merciful to all Divine works. All Your works, Adonai, will praise You, and Your faithful ones will bless You. Of Your glorious majesty they will talk, and of Your might they will speak. Thus they will make known to people Your might, and the glorious majesty of Your sovereignty. Your sovereignty is eternal, and Your dominion is for generation upon generation. Adonai supports those who fall, and straightens the bent. They eyes of all turn to You and expect, and You give them their food at its time. You open Your hand, and satiate all life as it desires. righteous is Adonai in all ways, and faithful in all works. Near is Adonai to all who call, to all who call in truth. God heeds the desires of those who are in awe, They hear their cry and save them. Adonai watches over all those with love of God, and will destroy all the wicked. Praise of Adonai my mouth will utter, and all flesh shall bless the Holy Name forever and all time. And we will bless Yahh from now and forever. Hal'luYahh.
Satiated with contentment, I dwell in Your house. your house is the place where I know my worthiness to be a part of my people. Your house is the place where I know my worthiness to receive Your love. Always I want to praise You, to be aware of all the blessings of life, but my fears and ego get in the way. Craving security and certainty, they flail and smack at the air. Don't be too happy! Don't be too proud! Everything dies, everything will be lost, they say, forgetting my essential worth. Generous God, help me find my way home to Your house. I am an instrument of Your praise, jammed up with out of tune strings and bent parts. Kudos to the One Who tunes me and straightens me! Longing for You, I stretch out my body on Your altar. Move me with Your music. Now I flicker with notes for You. Open, open, open-- I open to You. Play me! Let my life be Your masterpiece, Your glorious improv jam. Quicken my breath with Your love! Rattle my fears and ego! Shake them to the ground! Tackle me with compassion, until I am nothing but love for You. Vulnerable, which is the only way to be. X-ray my heart and see only longing for You, Yes, only longing for You, zest and gratitude and longing.

Hal'luYahh! Spirit of mine, praise Adonai! I will indeed praise Adonai with my life, I will sing to God with all my being. I will not put my reliance in big shots. What can people do, who can't even help themselves? When their spirits leave them, they return to the dust. All their schemes have vanished. Happy is one who is helped by Ya-akov's God; whose hope is entrusted in Adonai Elohav-- the One Who makes heaven and earth, the ocean and all that lives there. They are also the One who is forever, the standard of truth and sincerity. They seek justice for the oppressed, and give food to the starved. Adonai is the One Who frees the imprisoned. Adonai gives sight to the blind. Adonai upholds the stooping. Adonai loves the tzaddikim. Adonai protects the converts, consoles the orphaned and the widowed, confounds the way of the malicious. Please, Adonai! Tziyyon's God! Manifest Your sovereignty in the world, for us, and for our children, hal'luYahh.

Hal'luYahh! It is so good to sing to Eloheinu. Make good music to accompany the words. Adonai builds Y'rushalayim by gathering her scattered godwrestlers. They make the broken hearted well, and soothes the hurt of their bruises. Counting the stars and naming them, They create each to be. Great is our master, and powerful beyond measure. No one can describe Their way of comprehension. Adonai encourages the downtrodden, but the insolent, They bring low. Offer gratitude to Adonai! To the harp, sing songs of celebration to Eloheinu. They cover the sky with billowing clouds: thus arranging rain for the ground, making the hills sprout forth grass, giving the animals the food they need: even to the young ravens, who cry to be fed. They are not impressed by a stallion's feistiness; nor by the muscles of a man's thighs. Adonai welcomes those who respect Them; who long for Their grace. Y'rushalayim! Tziyyon! Give praise to Adonai. Celebrate that They are Elohayich, because They strengthened the bars of your gates, and blessed your children in your midst. Your borders They set to hold peace, and They satisfy you with good nourishment. When They decree something for Earth, Their command is swiftly fulfilled. Snow, like white wool, They send down. Frost, They scatter like sand. They send hail like crumbs. No one can stand it when They bring on the cold. Sending Their word, They melt them, blowing warm wind, and the waters flow. They impart Their words to Ya-akov; Their statutes and judgments to Yis'ra-Eil. Alas! They did not do the same for other nations. Their judgments They did not share with them. Hal'luYahh.

Praise Yahh the Breath of Life from the heavens, praise Yahh in the heights, praise Yahh, you messengers; praise Yah, you multitudes! Praise Yah, sun and moon, and praise, all you light-filled stars! Praise Yah, heavens beyond the heavens. Praise Yah, waters beneath the heavens. Praise the Name of Adonai Breath of Life, for through Their intertwining all comes to be. each finds its place in the dance of all: Adonai carves them a role that no one can erase. So sing praise, all that is earthy and grounded, all that flows in the deeps like the great sea-monsters, fire and hail, snow and god, storm-winds blowing from the Mouth of God. Lofty mountains, gentle hills, fruit trees and evergreens, roaring beasts and lowing herds, crawly bugs and soaring birds, powerful rulers and empowered peoples, prosecutors and public defenders, all kinds of people sprouting promise, bearded elders bent by life and beardless youth not yet on path. All sing praise to the Breath of Life-- for Yahh stands alone in radiance, filling with splendor earth and sky, making all peoples a horn of plenty. For the sake of all who love Yahh or who come near through wrestling God, let us praise the Breath of Life-- Hal'luYahh!

Hal'luYahh! Sing a brand new song to Adonai. This is how They are celebrated among the Chasidim. Yis'ra-Eil is happy knowing their Maker. Tziyyon's children delight in their Sovereign. Dancing, they chant Their Name, making rhythm, with drums and strings. Adonai loves Their people. The self-effacing can count on Them for help. Chasidim savor Their awesome Presence. Even on their bed, they hum Their praises. They exalt Eil, in inner speech. Such praise is a potent weapon, repelling antagonists, scolding bigots, to immobilize their commanders, and arrest their agitators. Rebuke them, as they deserve! All this, because God's Chasidim give honor to Them in splendor. Hal'luYahh!

And You imposed signs and wonders against Par'oh and all his servants and all the people of his land, for You knew that they acted malevolenty against them; and thus You have made a name for Yourself, like this day. Then Mosheh and b'nei Yis'ra-Eil sang this song to Adonai, and they said: I will sing to Adonai for They are most hight; the horse with its rider, They threw into the sea. The strength and retribution of God was the cause of my deliverance; this is my Almighty and I will glorify Them, God of my ancestor and I will exalt Them. Adonai is master of war, Adonai is Their Name. Par'oh's chariots and army, They hurled into the sea; and his elite officers were drowned in the Sea of Reeds. The deep waters covered them; they descended into the depths like stone. Your right hand, Adonai, is adorned with power; Your right hand, Adonai, crushes the enemy. And in Your great majesty, You destroyed Your opponents; You sent forth Your fury, it consumed them like straw. And with the wind from your nostrils, the waters were heaped up, flowing water stood erect like a wall; the deep waters congealed in the heart of the sea. The enemy said: I will pursue them, I will overtake them, I will divide the spoils; I will satisfy myself; I will unsheathe my sword, my hand will destroy them. You blew with Your wind, the sea covered them; they sank like lead in the mighty waters. Who is like you, among the mighty, Adonai? Who is like You? You are adorned in holiness, awesome in praise, performing wonders. You stretched out Your right hand, the earth swallowed them. You led in Your kindliness, the people whom You redeemed; You guided them with Your might to Your holy dwelling place. The peoples heard and trembled. pangs of fear gripped the inhabitants of Philistia. Then the chieftains of Edom panicked, the mighty men of Moab were seized with trembling, all the inhabitants of Canaan melted away. Terror and dread fall upon them; at the greatness of Your arm they were still as stone; until Your people cross over, Adonai, until they cross over-- the people You have acquired. You will bring them and plant them on the mountain of Your inheritance, the place for Your habitation which You, Adonai, have made; the Sanctuary, my Master, which Your hands established. Adonai will reign forever and all time. Adonai will reign forever and all time. Adonai! Their sovereignty is established forever and to all eternity. When Par'oh's horses, with his chariots, and his horsemen, went into the sea, Adonai turned back on them the waters of the sea; and b'nei Yis'ra-Eil walked on dry land in the midst of the sea. For the sovereignty is Adonai's and They rule over nations. And deliverers will go up to Mount Tziyyon to judge Mount Eisav, and the sovereignty will be Adonai's. And Adonai will be Sovereign over the whole earth; on that day Adonai will be One and Their Name One.

Your Name be praised, always, Majestic One. Powerful and gentle Source, You make heaven and earth sacred. It is our pleasure to dedicate to you, our God and our ancestors' God, time and time again: music and celebration, jubilation and symphony, fortissimo, anthem, victory march, largo, forte, paean and hymn, sanctus and maestoso, laudo and aria, celebrating Your Divine reputation in every realm. We worship You, Adonai, generous, great, regal One, Who is the One to whom we offer all these. Our God, Whom we appreciate, source of all wonder, fountain of all souls, author of all that happens, Who delights in music and chant, origin of Unity; You are the life that flows through all the worlds.
Psalms 130
Said during the Ten Days of T'shuvah

Shir hamma-alot mimma-amikkim k'raticha Adonai. Adonai shim'ah v'koli tih'yenah uz'necha kashuvot l'kol tachanunai. Im avonot tish'mar Yahh Adonai mi ya-amod. Ki imm'cha hass'lichah l'ma-an tivvarei. V'hu yif'ddeh et Yis'ra-Eil mikol avonotav.

A song of ascents. Our of the depths I have called to You, Adonai. My Master, hear my voice; let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. If You, Yahh, should take account of iniquities, my Master, who could survive? For with You is forgiveness, in order that You be feared. I hope for Adonai, my soul hopes; and for Their word, I wait. My soul waits for my Master more than the watchman waits for the morning, more than the watchman waits for the morning. Wait, Yis'ra-Eil, upon Adonai, for with Adonai there is loving-kindness, and with Them there is much redemption. And They will redeem Yis'ra-Eil from all its iniquities.
