An Evening Modeh Ani
Modeh Ani, Grateful Am I
Life-force of the Universe
for the soul You have lent me
so that I was able today
to experience the grandeur of Creation.
As the sun sets,
as the day begins to end,
as we lay our heads to rest,
we ask You, Creator,
for something precious:
tomorrow.

Ribono Shel Olam, I hereby forgive whoever has hurt me, and whoever has done me any wrong: whether it was deliberately or by accident, whether it was sone by word or deed, in this incarnation or in previous ones. May no one be punished on my account. My it be Your will, Adonai Elohai, God of my parents, that I sin no more, that I do not revert to my old ways, that I do not anger You any more by my actions. May I not do what is evil in Your sight. Wipe away the sins that I have committed, with Your great compassion, but not through sickness or suffering. May these words of my mouth, and the prayers that are in my heart, be acceptable before You, Adonai, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Prayer for Usefulness
Father in Heaven, help me at all times to rule myself so that, controlled and clean, I may give myself unto Thee. Teach me to look upon Thee alone, and not my friends, as my judge in all things, so that I may not blindly follow the multitude. Give unto me, I beseech Thee, the strength that cannot by word nor thought harm the weak, and the power to be a comfort and a joy to others. Teach me freely to forgive all evil done, and to give unto all men a gentle love. May I find my delight in simple things and may the joys and laughter be free from all bitterness, either of thought or intention. Thus. O Lord, may I prepare myself to sacrifice my life in Thy service. By opening my heart and soul only to that which is pure and righteous, by doing everything in my power to make some life a little happier for my presence, and by conquering some fault or failing of my own, may I day by day draw closer unto Thee.

Bless’d art Thou, O Lord of all,
Who mak’st the bands of sleep to fall
Upon mine eyes, and slumber press
Mine eyelids down with heaviness.
God of my fathers, may it be
Thy will, this night to suffer me
To lay me down in peace and rise
In peace, when morning gilds the skies.
From thoughts of ill my slumber keep,
And, lest the sleep of death I sleep,
O Lighten Thou mine eyes, for Thou
Lord, dost with light the eye endow.
Bless’d art Thou, O Lord most high,
Who in Thy glorious majesty,
And in Thy gracious love hast given
Light upon earth and light in heaven.

Love Yah, who is your God, in what your heart is, in what you aspire to, in what you have made your own. May these values which I connect with your life, be implanted in your feelings. May they become the norm for your children: keep talking with them in the privacy of your home, and on the errands you run. May they help you relax, and activate you to be productive. Display them visibly on your arm. Let them focus your attention. See them at all transitions at home, and in your environment.
Shhhh... listen up, God-wrestlers! Do you know God? God is unity.
Take a moment to imagine the day that we understand this and can live in peace. What would that be like?
What would it be like to love unconditionally with all your heart and all your might? All the time? This is what it would be like. You would carry the oneness of Love in your heart. You would teach the oneness of Love to your children. You would speak the oneness of Love when you are at home, in the car, at the grocery store, when you are protesting in the streets, and when you despair because the protests did not work. You are going to forget all this because life is hard. To snap yourself out of this divine hypnosis, why not wear a piece of jewelry or a special hat? Or put these words on your doorway? Seriously, this is only the most important thing that you can ever know. And even if you do all the things, the jewelry and the hat and the doorway, you will still forget. You are designed to forget and then to remember.
But guess what? We are lucky. God is still One. And God is still Love.

In concealment You dwell, Most High, Almighty, You linger in the shadow. I say to You Adonai, You are both my safe haven, and my bastion holding me. I must trust You, Elohai. You save me from entrapment, from putrid scourge. You cover me under Your shelter. You keep me safe under Your wings. I am protected by Your truth. (I am assured by You.) Do not panic facing night's terror, a bullet shot in broad daylight, a blight creeping in the murky dark, a wasting plague at high noon. You will not be harmed, though a thousand fall near you, a myriad at your right hand. You just look steadfastly ahead, and you will see how malice will get its rebuke. Yes, You, Adonai, are my defense. I am at home with You, high beyond reach. (You assure me.) No mishap will befall you. Your tent will be safe from harm. Angels are appointed to care and watch over you wherever you are. They will bear you high on their hands. You will not strike your foot against a stone. Snakes and wildcats will avoid you. Lions and serpents will get out of your way. (You assure me.) Because you long for Me, I will rescue you. I will raise you up because you know My Name. When you call Me, I will answer you. I will free you and esteem you. I will make you content with your life span and I will have you witness how I bring deliverance.

Adonoy, how many are my tormentors; many rise up against me. Many say of my soul: There is no deliverance for him through God, forever. But You, Adonoy, are a shield for me; my glory and Raiser of my head. With my voice, I call out to Adonoy, and He answers me from His holy mountain, forever. I lay down and slept; I awake for Adonoy supports me. I fear not the tens of thousands of people deployed against me from every side. Rise Adonoy, deliver me, my God, for You have struck all my enemies on the cheek; You have broken the teeth of the wicked. Deliverance is Adonoy’s; upon Your people is Your blessing, selah.
David still sang, though he fled from Av'shalom, his son. Adonai! How numerous my foes are; so many have risen against me. Many said of me, "Even God cannot help him." Selah! But You, Adonai, shield me-- You keep my honor intact; You hold my head high. I call to You, Adonai! You answer me from Your Sacred Summit. Selah! I can lie down and sleep in peace, knowing that You will wake me, support me. I won't panic, even if a mob of thugs press at me from all sides. Arise, O Adonai! Save me, Elohai! You have busted the jaws of my foes, broken the teeth of the wicked; Yours, Adonai, is the rescue. Yours is Your blessing for Your people. Selah!

Lishu-at'cha kivviti Adonai kivviti Adonai lishu-at'cha Adonai lishu-at'cha kivviti.

For Your deliverance, I hope, Adonai. I hope, Adonai, for Your deliverance. Adonai, for Your deliverance, I hope.

In the Name of Adonai, God of Yis'ra-Eil: at my right hand, Micha-eil, at my left hand, Gav'ri-eil, before me Ori-eil, behind me R'fa-eil, and above my head the Shechinah.
Psalms 128

A song of ascents. Fortunate are all who are in reverent awe of Adonai, who walk in Their ways. When you eat of the toil of your hands, you are fortunate, and it is good with you. Your spouse will be like a fruitful vine in the innermost parts of your house; your children like olive plants around your table. Behold, thus shall be blessed: the one who is in reverent awe of Adonai. Adonai bless you from Tziyyon, and may you see the good of Y'rushalayim all the days of your life. May you live to see you children's children. Peace upon Yis'ra-Eil.
Song
When I gaze on thee, I bless thee,
And my spirit would caress thee,
Even while it soars above,
On its wings of faith and love.
As a radiant star thou art
To the heaven of my heart;
For it sees no thing so bright
In its regions of delight.
I will bless thee in my sleep,
When I wake, and when I weep;
In my dreams of bliss divine,
When my soul has been with thine.
Oh! what mysteries belong
To the soul of love and song!
That it sees no other sun
Than its own, its worshipped one.

The Lord of the Cosmos was already enthroned,
When, from His creator hand,
A nothing, formed from earthen clay,
Found its way into the Vale of Life.
While in the air and in the sea
He bade fish and bird to breathe,
He alone was the ruler,
Whom even the Raging Chaos praised.
And if all this disintegrates into nothing,
His kingdom will still endure,
And over the ruined world
His spirit’s breath will still blow;
For He is one and alone,
No other is comparable to him,
His existence is in Eternity,
Unreachable even through Dream.
His is the dominion and the power,
He is without beginning and without end,
So whatever sorrow the day may bring,
I confidently place in His hands.
For He who is my Redeemer, lives,
He is the cup that is mine,
The refuge my heart seeks,
In storm and trouble my everlasting peace.
In the strife of the day, in the quiet of the night
I put myself in His hands
And trust that He will watch over me
And turn all sorrow to salvation.
No matter how thick the darkness,
My heart cannot doubt and lament,
And even in the last struggle it speaks:
“God is with me, why should I hesitate‽!”

A Psalm, a song for the inauguration of the Temple, by David. I will exalt You, Adonoy, for You have upheld me, and not let my foes rejoice over me. Adonoy, my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me. Adonoy, You have raised my soul from the lower world. You have kept me alive, lest I descend to the Pit. Sing to Adonoy, [you,] His pious ones, and give thanks to His holy Name. For His anger lasts only a moment, but there is [long] life, in His conciliation. In the evening, one retires weeping, but in the morning there is [a cry of] joy! I said, in my serenity, I would never be moved. [But,] Adonoy, it was Your will [alone] that established my mountain as a stronghold. When You concealed Your Presence, I was terrified. To You, Adonoy, I called, and my Master I beseeched. What gain is there in [the shedding of] my blood? In my going down to destruction? Will the dust acknowledge You? Will it proclaim Your truth? Hear [me] Adonoy, and be gracious to me, Adonoy, be a help to me. You have turned my mourning into dancing, You have loosened my sackcloth and supported me with joy. In order that my soul might sing to You and not be stilled, Adonoy, my God, forever will I thank You.
