The word "Esther" might come from the word "l'hastir"--to be hidden. We find that Esther does find ways to hide her true identity, revealing herself as the chapters unfold. While the rules originally were created in relationship to Vashti's tales, we've also inserted some verses that help us see Esther's POV.
#1. Surround Yourself with Allies
(9) In addition, Queen Vashti gave a banquet for women, in the royal palace of King Ahasuerus.
#2. Dress to impress!
#3. You always have the option to say no!
#4. There will always be consequences for your actions.
#5. You can NEVER make everyone happy. Stop trying!
#6. With power, comes great influence. But if you believe in something, commit!
#7. There are some people (and places) who will "cancel" you
for your sharing "unpopular" thoughts.
#8. Be memorable: people won't always remember what you said,
but they'll always remember how you made them feel.
#9. (A LESSON VASHTI IS STILL LEARNING!):
Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you.
(Okay, okay, so this one was Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg,
but I'm pretty sure she would have advising Vashti all the way).
#10. Everyone is replaceable!
