(22) But the children struggled in her womb, and she said, “If so, why do I exist?” She went to inquire of ה', (23) and ה' answered her,
“Two nations are in your womb,
Two separate peoples shall issue from your body;

One people shall be mightier than the other,
And the older shall serve the younger.”
(24) When her time to give birth was at hand, there were twins in her womb.

Rav Hirsch says that the word רַ֖ב is never used as older, it is every time used as "bigger in number and power". In this pasuk it is used to tell that the more powerful brother, will work for the more spiritual brother. And at the end, all his power gaining was just a preparation to serve the other brother. The materialistic brother won't be destroyed, he will learn for himself to serve others.

From this we can learn that the key points of our live is decided by 'ה. However it is possible to decide by itself how we get to this point.
