אינני רואה שיוכלו הציבור לעכב מן הדין ולא ראוי מכמה צדדין כי המקדיש והבונה משלו לשמים מי מעכב על ידו מלהזכיר שמו בשלו... ועוד דבכמה מקומות בקהילות הקודש שנוהגין כן גם במקומנו הוא כתוב בכותל ההיכל. וזו מדת חכמים היא ומידת ותיקין היא ליתן שכר לעשות מצווה ומדת התורה הוא שהיא כותבת ומפרסמת עושה מצוה ואם התורה עושתה כן צריכין אנו להלך אחר מדותיה של תורה שהן דרכי נועם.

I don't see formal reason for the congregation to deny this and it is also not right for several reasons because if one builds and dedicates out of his own for the name of heavens how can we stop him from mentioning his name in his own... Also, there are some communities that do this and even in our community it is written in the wall of the temple. And this is the way of the sages and the wise to give reward for Mitzvot and the Torah does so as well and if the Torah does this we should go in her ways.
(ה) ...לפיכך כל אחד ואחד חייב לומר בשבילי נברא העולם.
(5) ...Therefore, every person must say, “For my sake the world was created.”
(טו) הַכֹּל צָפוּי, וְהָרְשׁוּת נְתוּנָה, וּבְטוֹב הָעוֹלָם נִדּוֹן. וְהַכֹּל לְפִי רֹב הַמַּעֲשֶׂה:
(15) Everything is foreseen, and freewill is given, and with goodness the world is judged. And all is in accordance to the majority of the deed.

והכל לפי רוב המעשה: ...כשיתן האדם למי שראוי אלף זהובים בבת אחת לאיש אחד, ולאיש אחד לא יתן כלום לא יעלה בידו מדת הנדיבות בזה המעשה האחד הגדול, כמו שמגיע למי שהתנדב אלף זהובים באלף פעמים - ונתן כל זהוב מהם על צד הנדיבות, מפני שזה כפל מעשה הנדיבות אלף פעמים והגיע לו קנין חזק, וזה פעם אחת לבד התעוררה נפשו התעוררות גדולה לפועל טוב ואחרי כן פסקה ממנו.
Rambam on Avot 3:15
VeHaKol Lefi Rov HaMa'ase: ...When a person gives to an appropriate person one thousand gold pieces at once, he would not be considered at the level of generosity in this one large action as someone who gave one thousand gold coins (one at a time) one thousand times and through each coin was generous, because this multiplies the act of generosity one thousand times and [the trait of generosity] is strengthened in this person, while the other one only had his spirit raised to the awareness to do good once and then stopped.
