You are not to hate your brother in your heart. Rebuke, yes, rebuke your fellow and you shall not bear sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance or retain anger against your kinspeople.

Love your neighbor as yourself: I am Adonai.

Rebuke /rəˈbyo͞ok/ verb
1. express sharp disapproval or criticism of (someone) because of their behavior or actions.

Do not rebuke a scoffer, for he will hate you;

Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.

Midrash Rabba Bereishit on Gensis 21:25
Rabbi Yose Son of Rabbi Hanina said:
Rebuke leads to love, as it says,
"Rebuke a wise man and he will love thee (Proverbs 9:8).
Indeed, as R. Yose son of Hanina would say:
Love without Rebuke is not love.
"Nonviolence … does not seek to defeat or humiliate the opponent, but to win his friendship and understanding. The nonviolent resister must often express his protest through noncooperation or boycotts, but he realizes that these are not ends themselves; they are merely means to awaken a sense of moral shame in the opponent. The end is redemption and reconciliation. The aftermath of nonviolence is the creation of the beloved community, while the aftermath of violence is tragic bitterness."

Whoever can protest the members of his household and does not protest is held accountable for the actions of his household.

Whoever can protest his fellow citizens and does not protest is held accountable for the actions of his fellow citizens.

Whoever can protest the whole world and does not protest is held accountable for the actions of the whole world.
