Rav Meir Abuchatzeira from Ashdod brought down that the holiest place for the receiving of tfillot is by the grave of Or Hachaim, and that was why Rav Yaakov Abuchatzera came to Israel, to be by the grave of the Ohr Hachaim.
In the last week before his passing The Or Hachaim wore important clothing and told his students: Let’s go out and greet the Mashiach
After a while he took off his clothing and answered “Right now the world is 50/50 and we are close to bringing the Mashiach, but a rich person in Istanbul stumbled in a disgusting sin, and the fate of the world was sealed. And on this year the ohr Hachaim passed away (In the name of the Slonimer Rebbe)
The Chida brought down that the Ohr Hachaim was the Mashiach and he was ready to reveal himself, but in our sins the matter didn’t come to fruition.
