New Spanish Translations on Sefaria
September 1, 2021
While Sefaria has offered classical Jewish texts in both their original languages and in English translation since its inception, one of our most frequent requests over the years has been to add more Spanish translations. Now — just in time for the High Holidays — we are excited to announce three new Spanish prayer book translations: the Ashkenazi Siddur, Rosh Hashanah Machzor, and Yom Kippur Machzor.
We are extremely grateful to Seminario Rabínico Latinoamericano, the Latin American Rabbinic Seminary, for their partnership in this project. Founded by American Rabbi Marshall T. Meyer in 1962, they have generously donated these translations to Sefaria and have been working with us every step of the way to make them available to a worldwide audience. With headquarters in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Seminario Rabínico Latinoamericano has ordained more than 100 rabbis.
Other new Spanish translation additions include:
We are pleased to add to our repository of non-English translations across the site, which also includes French, German, Russian, Farsi, and more. We will continue our efforts to make Sefaria a resource for Jews all around the world — of any native language and level of background knowledge.
We hope that you enjoy exploring these new translations and discover even more ways to learn, pray, and connect with Sefaria.
