(35) You shall not falsify measures of length, weight, or capacity. (36) You shall have an honest balance, honest weights, an honest ephah, and an honest hin.
I the LORD am your God who freed you from the land of Egypt.

JACKSON: You are playing a game and you hacked it in a way that gave you an unfair advantage over the other players. The game developer and banned you. That is comparable to what we are talking about now.

Micah; You should always to have equal opportunity for people to be prepared for a test, If everyone prepare except for one person and they talk to their parent or grandparent instead of preparing on their own. That would kind of like cheating.

(13) You shall not have in your pouch alternate weights, larger and smaller. (14) You shall not have in your house alternate measures, a larger and a smaller. (15) You must have completely honest weights and completely honest measures, if you are to endure long on the soil that the LORD your God is giving you. (16) For everyone who does those things, everyone who deals dishonestly, is abhorrent to the LORD your God.

Adam: Do not alter the weights to not pay more or less for what you are getting. Don't cheat the customer. As well as the customer should not be victimized, so too the shop owner should not be victimized by people stealing from them. The customer should also not try to pay less for what they are getting by sneaking money out of what they are paying for items they are buying.

(4) Listen to this, you who devour the needy, annihilating the poor of the land,-c (5) saying, “If only the new moon were over, so that we could sell grain; the sabbath, so that we could offer wheat for sale, using an ephah that is too small, and a shekel that is too big,-d tilting a dishonest scale, (6) and selling grain refuse as grain! We will buy the poor for silver, the needy for a pair of sandals.”

Miya: During any part of religious practices you have to keep your mind on G-d and what you are learning about that day and not about cheating or taking away from people and making things unfair for people. You have to be loyal to the fact that G-d will also be loyal to you if you do what is right.

(7) You must return to your God!
Practice goodness and justice,
And constantly trust in your God.
(8) A trader who uses false balances,
Who loves to overreach,

Netziv of Volozhin, in his Torah commentary Ha’amek Davar, explains that use of improper weights is treated so severely because it is rooted in a lack of faith in God: … A person who steals a precious object from his fellow might have been motivated by desire for that object, so this would be like illicit relations. But one who makes false weights is not motivated by desire, but rather by lack of faith in God, who by divine providence provides for each person according to his deeds. So this brings it under idolatry.
