(19) This is the story of Isaac, son of Abraham. Abraham had Isaac.
(20) Isaac was forty years old when he married Rebekah, daughter of Bethuel the Aramean of Paddan-aram, sister of Laban the Aramean.
(21) Isaac begged God for his wife, because she couldn't have a baby; and God heard his begging, and his wife Rebekah got pregnant.
(22) But the babies struggled in her womb, and she said, “If they are srtuggling, what is wrong with me?” She asked God,
(23) and the LORD answered her, “Two nations are in your womb, Two separate nations you shall give birth to; One nation shall be stronger than the other, And the older one shall serve the younger.”
(24) When her time to have a baby came, she had twins
(25) The first one was red, like a hairy jacket all over him; so they named him Esau.
(26) Then his brother came out holding on to Esau's heel so they named him Jacob. Isaac was 60 years old when they were born.
(27) When the boys grew up, Esau became a skilled hunter, an outdoors man; but Jacob was a shy man who stayed at home.
(28) Isaac liked Esau because he had liked the outdoors but Rebekah liked Jacob.
