Void of earth
(2) the earth being unformed and void, with darkness over the surface of the deep and a wind from God sweeping over the water—
This parsha says that the earth was a void with darkness sweeping over the surface. The parsha says: "a wind from God sweeping over the water". That poses two questions. The first one is that if there was a void of darkness, where was the water? My answer to that question is that the water is a metaphor for the void and also of what it is going to become when God creates the land and the sea. The second question is where was God? My answer to this question is that God was above the void and made the wind from there so he could start creating the earth while still being the Ruler in the heavens.
