And all shall come to serve You and bless Your glorious Name, and throughout the isles they shall declare Your righteousness. And peoples will seek You, who knew You not before; and they will praise You, those who live in every part of the earth, and they will say, always, “Magnified be Adonoy.” And they will offer to You their sacrifices, and they will abandon their idols, and they will be humiliated with their graven images, and they will turn with unanimous accord to worship You. And they will fear You— as long as sun is upon them—. those who seek Your Presence, and they will realize the power of Your Kingship, and they will teach— those who have gone astray— understanding [of God]. And they will speak of Your might, and they will uplift You causing You to be uplifted above all, and they will fervently beseech Your Presence and crown You with a crown of glory. And the mountains will burst out in joyous song, and the isles will exult in Your Kingship, and they will accept the yoke of Your kingdom upon themselves, and they will exalt You in the assembly of peoples. Those from far-off lands will hear of this and they will come, and they will tender unto You the crown of sovereignty.

Solomon Shechter, Machzor Lev Shalem:
“How one would like to catch a glimpse of that early hymnologist to whom we owe the well known piyyut, V’ye-etatu...it might best be described as the Marseillaise of the people of the Lord of Hosts...when the upright shall exult and the saints triumphantly rejoice.”

The coastlands look on in fear, The ends of earth tremble. They draw near and come;

(5) The Levites Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah said, “Rise, bless the LORD your God who is from eternity to eternity: ‘May Your glorious name be blessed, exalted though it is above every blessing and praise!’

(12) Let them do honor to the LORD, And tell His glory in the coastlands.

(5) So you shall summon a nation you did not know, And a nation that did not know you Shall come running to you— For the sake of the LORD your God, The Holy One of Israel who has glorified you.

(8) May God bless us, and be revered to the ends of the earth.

(27) May those who desire my vindication sing forth joyously; may they always say, “Extolled be the LORD who desires the well-being of His servant,”

(21) The Philistines abandoned their idols there, and David and his men carried them off.

(18) May they be frustrated and terrified, disgraced and doomed forever.

(9) For then I will make the peoples pure of speech, So that they all invoke the LORD by name And serve Him with one accord.

(5) Let them fear You as long as the sun shines, while the moon lasts, generations on end.

(6) Such is the circle of those who turn to Him, Jacob, who seek Your presence.Selah.

(11) They shall talk of the majesty of Your kingship, and speak of Your might,

(24) And the confused shall acquire insight And grumblers accept instruction.

(2) Who can tell the mighty acts of the LORD, proclaim all His praises?

(11) Yours, LORD, are greatness, might, splendor, triumph, and majesty—yes, all that is in heaven and on earth; to You, LORD, belong kingship and preeminence above all.

(10) Then this would be my consolation, As I writhed in unsparing pains: That I did not suppress my words against the Holy One.

(40) You have repudiated the covenant with Your servant; You profaned his diadem on the ground.

(3) You shall be a glorious crown In the hand of the LORD, And a royal diadem In the palm of your God.

(23) Shout, O heavens, for the LORD has acted; Shout aloud, O depths of the earth! Shout for joy, O mountains, O forests with all your trees! For the LORD has redeemed Jacob, Has glorified Himself through Israel.

(1) Shout, O barren one, You who bore no child! Shout aloud for joy, You who did not travail! For the children of the wife forlorn Shall outnumber those of the espoused —said the LORD.

(1) The LORD is king! Let the earth exult, the many islands rejoice!

(2) These are the breaks between the sections: between the first blessing and the second, between the second and “Shema,” between “Shema” and “And it shall come to pass if you listen” between “And it shall come to pass if you listen” and “And the Lord said” and between “And the Lord said” and “Emet veYatziv” (true and firm). Rabbi Judah says: between “And the Lord said” and “Emet veYatziv” one should not interrupt. Rabbi Joshua ben Korhah said: Why was the section of “Shema” placed before that of “And it shall come to pass if you listen”? So that one should first accept upon himself the yoke of the Kingdom of Heaven and then take upon himself the yoke of the commandments. Why does the section of “And it shall come to pass if you listen” come before that of “And the Lord said”? Because “And it shall come to pass if you listen” is customary during both day and night, whereas [the section] “And the Lord said” is customary only during the day.

(32) Let them exalt Him in the congregation of the people, acclaim Him in the assembly of the elders.

(13) Hear, you who are far, what I have done; You who are near, note My might.”

(21) For liberators shall march up on Mount Zion to wreak judgment on Mount Esau; and dominion shall be the LORD’s.
