בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יהוה אֱלֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם שֶׁהֶחֱיָנוּ וְקִיְּמָנוּ וְהִגִּיעָנוּ לַזְמַן הַזֶּה
Baruch Atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melech ha'olam, shehecheyanu v'kimanu v'higiyanu l'zman hazeh.
Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has granted us life, sustained us, and enabled us to reach this day.
(ו) חֲנֹ֣ךְ לַ֭נַּעַר עַל־פִּ֣י דַרְכּ֑וֹ גַּ֥ם כִּֽי־יַ֝זְקִ֗ין לֹֽא־יָס֥וּר מִמֶּֽנָּה׃
(6) Train up a child in the way they should go, And even when they are old, they will not depart from it.

האב חייב בבנו למולו ולפדותו וללמדו תורה ולהשיאו אשה וללמדו אומנות וי"א אף להשיטו במים רבי יהודה אומר כל שאינו מלמד את בנו אומנות מלמדו ליסטות
A [parent] is obligated to do the following for [their child]: brit mila, to redeem a son if he is a first born, to teach them Torah, to find them a spouse, and to teach them a trade.
Others say: teaching a child how to swim as well. Rabbi Yehuda says, One who does not teach [their child] a trade, it is as if a parent taught a child thievery.
