"Then fire surrounded the house, so that everyone fled outside, leaving only Rabbi Elazar and Rabbi Abba." (see Zohar I:118a)]

(2) An angel of YHVH appeared to Moses in a blazing fire out of a bush. He gazed, and there was a bush all aflame, yet the bush was not consumed.

(7) The voice of the YHVH kindles flames of fire;

(21) YHVH went before them in a pillar of cloud by day, to guide them along the way, and in a pillar of fire by night, to give them light, that they might travel day and night.

(5) The fire on the altar shall be kept burning, not to go out: every morning the priest shall feed wood to it, lay out the burnt offering on it, and turn into smoke the fat parts of the offerings of well-being. (6) A perpetual fire shall be kept burning on the altar, not to go out.

Blessed are You, Creator our G-d, Manifestation of the Universe, Who sanctifies and commands us to kindle the Shabbos light.

Blessed are You, Creator of the universe, who creates the light of the fire.

Blessed are You, Creator, who distinguishes between the holy and the profane

Sefat Emet: "In the soul of every person there lies a hidden point that is aflame with the love of God, a fire that cannot be put out. Even though 'it may not be put out' here refers to a prohibition, it is also a promise. Thus our sages said, 'Even though fire descends from heaven, it is a commandment to bring it from a common source.." [Sefat Emet on Vayikra, Tzav 3:23]
