2020 Passover Reading List
Passover is getting close and Sefaria is full of texts and source sheets to help you prepare for the holiday, both spiritually and physically. We know this is a chaotic time, so we put together a reading list to help make your Passover prep a little easier:
The Foundational Texts:
The Physical Prep:
  • Read what the Rabbinic tradition has to say about chametz - or leavened foods - and other laws of Passover in Mishnah Pesachim and Talmud Bavli, Masechet Pesachim, with complete English translations
  • Learn all about chametz and what is allowed on Passover from Maimonides in Mishneh Torah, Leavened and Unleavened Bread
The Spiritual Prep:
  • Discover a symbolic meaning of chametz from Rabbi Nachman in Likutei Moharan
  • Learn about spiritually searching for chametz in Avodat Yisrael by the Maggid of Kozhnitz
The User-Created Sheets:
  • Matzah is sometimes referred to as The Bread of our Affliction. Learn more about what that means and why we invite others to join us in eating it.
  • The Haggadah asks us to imagine ourselves as slaves like our ancestors. Find out what it was like and how we can head into freedom.
  • Learn more about the four children from the Haggadah and the similarities and differences between the wise son and the wicked son.
DIY: Create your own Haggadah with our Ashkenaz and Edot HaMizrach templates. Make a copy of the sheet by clicking the title bar to access the menu, edit any way you like, and print or digitally share with your friends and family!
We wish you all a stress-free and healthy Passover season.
