דּוֹדִ֥י לִי֙
וַאֲנִ֣י ל֔וֹ
הָרֹעֶ֖ה בַּשּׁוֹשַׁנִּֽים׃
My beloved is mine
And I am my beloved's
The one who pastures among the lilies.
(א) דּוֹדִי לִי. הוּא כָל צְרָכָיו תָּבַע מִמֶּנִּי, וְלֹא צִוָּה אֶלָּא לִי: "עֲשׂוּ פֶסַח, קַדְּשׁוּ בְכוֹרוֹת, עֲשׂוּ מִשְׁכָּן, הַקְרִיבוּ עוֹלוֹת"...
וַאֲנִי לוֹ. כָּל צְרָכַי תָּבַעְתִּי מִמֶּנּוּ וְלֹא מֵאֱלֹקִים אֲחֵרִים:
הָרֹעֶה. אֶת צֹאנוֹ:
בַּשּׁוֹשַׁנִּים. בְּמִרְעֶה טוֹב וְנוֹחַ וְיָפֶה:
"My beloved is mine"
[G-d] demanded all [G-d's] needs from me. [G-d] commanded only me: "make the Passover sacrifice, sanctify the firstborn, make a Tabernacle, sacrifice burnt offerings."...
"And I am my beloved's"
All my needs I requested of [G-d], and not of other gods.
"The one who pastures" [G-d's] sheep.
"Among the lilies." In a good, pleasant, and beautiful pasture.
