Living with Geulah

Opening Question:

How could such a nation coming from such a low place reach such great heights?

There is in the writing of the Ariz"l regarding the verse (Shemos 3:12) "You will serve G-d upon this mountain", it is known that when Israel was in Egypt, they were sunken in 49 levels of impurity and The Blessed Holy One, in His Great mercy and kindness, redeemed them from Egypt in order to bring them close, under the wings of The Holy Presence.

The LORD is my strength and might; He is become my deliverance. This is my God and I will enshrine Him; The God of my father, and I will exalt Him.

THIS IS MY GOD — In His glory did He reveal Himself to them and they pointed to Him — as it were — with the finger exclaiming “This is my God!” (Shir HaShirim Rabbah 3:15) A maid servant beheld at the Red Sea what even the prophets never saw (Mekhilta d'Rabbi Yishmael 15:2:2).

A Person's Natural Connection and Yearning

(Translation/Commentary from The Practical Tanya)

So it turns out that, regardless of what kind of Jew you may be, the Infinite Light of G-d is present in the chochmah component of your soul, and that component of chochmah, together with the Blessed Infinite Light present in it, then dissipates throughout your entire soul, to every component within it, energizing your soul at all its levels, "from head to foot", as the verse states, "Chochmah gives life to those who posses it" (Ecclesiastes 7:12)

(Translation/Commentary from The Practical Tanya)

We first need to clarify the verse, "Adam's soul is G-d's candle" (Proverbs 20:27). This means that the souls of Israel, which are referred to as "Adam" (Talmud, Yevamos 61a), are comparable to the flame of a candle, which, by nature, continually flickers upwards. Because a fire's flame is naturally inclined to detach itself from the wick, so as to connect with its root, above, in the core element of fire, which is below the moon's orbit, as stated in Etz Chaim.

...

The description of this tendency of the flame and the soul as a 'nature' is non-literal, referring to anything which is not the product of reasoning and logic. Here too, the understanding is that the soul's will and desire is not the product of reasoning and logic, a graspable and intelligible rationale, rather it transcends logic and any graspable intelligible rationale.

Teshuva to Our True Self

(16) of all this force—700 picked men—were left-handed. Every one of them could sling a stone at a hair and not miss.

Reish Lakish says: A man commits a transgression only if a spirit of folly [shetut] enters him, as it is stated: “If any man’s wife goes aside [tisteh]” (Numbers 5:12).

Netivot Shalom Parshat Shemot

A Jew sins and afterwards he returns in teshuva, saying before HaShem: it's revealed and known before you that our desire is to do according to your will, but the yetzer hara comes and arouses us.

Orot HaTeshuva Perek 15:10

When we forget the essence of our neshama itself, when we avert our attention from focusing on the reality of the inner life of oneself, everything becomes mixed up and confused...

So, only with teshuva to one's self can a man or the nation return, the world and all of the worlds, all of existence, to their Creator, to the light of the Light of all life. And this is the mystery of the light of Mashiach, the emergence of the soul of the world, that with his light the entire world will return to the root of existence, and the light of HaShem will be revealed upon it.

The Mindset of Geulah - Tu B'Shevat

Tal'lei Chaim - Hekitzu V'Ranenu

We need to expand our faith in this generation and its connection to these 'lights' (of Mashiach/Geulah). Because this is a foundation, that the revelation of these 'lights' are very much dependent on the faith and understanding that man is worthy of them!

On the first of Shevat is the new year for the trees. What is the reason?

R. Eleazar said in the name of R. Oshaia: Because by then the greater part of the year's rain has fallen and the greater part of the cycle is still to come.

What is the sense of this?

It means this: ‘Although the greater part of the cycle is still to come,

yet since the greater part of the year's rain has fallen, [therefore etc.]’.

Since most of the seasonal rain has come, it is the time of flowering and the sap rises in the trees as the fruit begins to ripen.

The Women's Faith

(20) Then Miriam the prophetess, Aaron’s sister, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women went out after her in dance with timbrels.
WITH TIMBRELS AND WITH DANCES — The righteous women in that generation were confident that God would perform miracles for them and they accordingly had brought timbrels with them from Egypt (Mekhilta d'Rabbi Yishmael 15:20:2).
