(ח) שְׁאַ֤ל מִמֶּ֗נִּי...
(8) Ask it of Me...
(א) שאל ממני. התפלל אלי בכל עת שאתה בא להלחם באויביך:
(ח) ...וְאֶתְּנָ֣ה ג֭וֹיִם נַחֲלָתֶ֑ךָ וַ֝אֲחֻזָּתְךָ֗ אַפְסֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃
(8) ...and I will make the nations your domain; your estate, the limits of the earth.
(א) בואו, כשבאים אל בשר ודם באים בשערים בתהלות ושבחים להללו, ואח''כ כשממלא המבוקש יוצאים בתודה, ונצל יקוק (ב) תבואו בשעריו בתודה, כי כב הקדים לכם טובותיו, (ג) ובתוך החצר, תשיגו גבורותיו ומהלליו (ד) ותבואו בתהלה (ה) הודו וגם א''א להלל יקוק מצד עצמו רק מצד טובותיו שנשיג, שע''י התודה על טובותיו נבא בתהלה, ועז''א ע''י
(ג) שָׁמַע שְׁמוּעָה טוֹבָה מְבָרֵךְ בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ׳ אֱלֹקֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם הַטּוֹב וְהַמֵּטִיב. שָׁמַע שְׁמוּעָה רָעָה מְבָרֵךְ בָּרוּךְ דַּיַּן הָאֱמֶת. וְחַיָּב אָדָם לְבָרֵךְ עַל הָרָעָה בְּטוּב נֶפֶשׁ כְּדֶרֶךְ שֶׁמְּבָרֵךְ עַל הַטּוֹבָה בְּשִׂמְחָה שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (דברים ו ה) ״וְאָהַבְתָּ אֵת יְיָ׳ אֱלֹהֶיךָ״ וְגוֹ׳ (דברים ו ה) ״וּבְכָל מְאֹדֶךָ״. וּבִכְלַל אַהֲבָה הַיְתֵרָה שֶׁנִּצְטַוֵּינוּ בָּהּ שֶׁאֲפִלּוּ בְּעֵת שֶׁיָּצֵר לוֹ יוֹדֶה וִישַׁבֵּחַ בְּשִׂמְחָה:
(3) On hearing good news, one says, "Blessed art thou, O Lord our God, King of the Universe, Who art good, and doest good." On hearing evil tidings, one says, "Blessed be the true judge." A person has to bless God with good will, for ill fortune, just as he has to bless Him with joy for good fortune, as it is said "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, with all thy soul and with all thy might." (Deuteronomy 6:5). In the abounding love of God enjoined upon us, it is implied that even in distress, one should thank and praise Him with joy.
(15) May the words of my mouth and the prayer of my heart be acceptable to You, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
(8) Ask it of Me, and I will make the nations your domain; your estate, the limits of the earth.
