(א) וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר
(1) The LORD spoke to Moses, saying:
(ב) דַּבֵּ֞ר אֶל־כָּל־עֲדַ֧ת בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל וְאָמַרְתָּ֥ אֲלֵהֶ֖ם קְדֹשִׁ֣ים תִּהְי֑וּ כִּ֣י קָד֔וֹשׁ אֲנִ֖י יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃
(2) Speak to the whole Israelite community and say to them: You shall be holy, for I, the LORD your God, am holy.

Ask Students:

1. To brainstorm rules for their class

2. Then put on a large piece of paper

3. Have students write commentary about the rules around the text in Talmudic form

4. If time, hand out a list of Jewish values and have students decide which values are connected to which rules.
