(1) A song for ascents. I turn my eyes to the mountains; from where will my help come? (2) My help comes from Adonai, maker of heaven and earth. (3) God will not let your foot give way; your guardian will not slumber; (4) See, the guardian of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps! (5) Adonai is your guardian, Adonai is your protection at your right hand. (6) By day the sun will not strike you, nor the moon by night. (7) Adonai will guard you from all harm; God will guard your life. (8) Adonai will guard your going and coming now and forever.

(1) A psalm of David. A song for the dedication of the House. (2) I extol You, Adonai, for You have lifted me up, and not let my enemies rejoice over me. (3) Adonai, my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me. (4) Adonai, You brought me up from Sheol, preserved me from going down into the Pit. (5) O you faithful of Adonai, sing to God, and praise God's holy name. (6) For God is angry but a moment, and when God is pleased there is life. One may lie down weeping at nightfall; but at dawn there are shouts of joy. (7) When I was untroubled, I thought, “I shall never be shaken,” (8) for You, Adonai, when You were pleased, made [me] firm as a mighty mountain. When You hid Your face, I was terrified. (9) I called to You, Adonai; to my Lord I made appeal, (10) “What is to be gained from my death, from my descent into the Pit? Can dust praise You? Can it declare Your faithfulness? (11) Hear, Adonai, and have mercy on me; Adonai, be my help!” (12) You turned my lament into dancing, you undid my sackcloth and girded me with joy, (13) that [my] whole being might sing hymns to You endlessly; Adonai my God, I will praise You forever.

(1) Of David. Bless Adonai, O my soul, all my being, God's holy name. (2) Bless Adonai, O my soul and do not forget all God's bounties. (3) God forgives all your sins, heals all your diseases. (4) God redeems your life from the Pit, surrounds you with steadfast love and mercy. (5) God satisfies you with good things in the prime of life, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. (6) Adonai executes righteous acts and judgments for all who are wronged. (7) God made known God's ways to Moses, God's deeds to the children of Israel. (8) Adonai is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love. (9) God will not contend forever, or nurse God's anger for all time. (10) God has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor has God requited us according to our iniquities. (11) For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is God's steadfast love toward those who fear God. (12) As east is far from west, so far has God removed our sins from us. (13) As a father has compassion for his children, so Adonai has compassion for those who fear God. (14) For God knows how we are formed; God is mindful that we are dust. (15) Man, his days are like those of grass; he blooms like a flower of the field; (16) a wind passes by and it is no more, its own place no longer knows it. (17) But Adonai’s steadfast love is for all eternity toward those who fear God, and God's beneficence is for the children’s children (18) of those who keep God's covenant and remember to observe God's precepts. (19) Adonai has established God's throne in heaven, and God's sovereign rule is over all. (20) Bless Adonai, O God's angels, mighty creatures who do God's bidding, ever obedient to God's bidding; (21) bless Adonai, all God's hosts, God's servants who do God's will; (22) bless Adonai, all God's works, through the length and breadth of God's realm; bless Adonai, O my soul.

(1) Of David. The LORD is my light and my help; whom should I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life, whom should I dread? (2) When evil men assail me to devour my flesh— it is they, my foes and my enemies, who stumble and fall. (3) Should an army besiege me, my heart would have no fear; should war beset me, still would I be confident. (4) One thing I ask of the LORD, only that do I seek: to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD, to frequent His temple. (5) He will shelter me in His pavilion on an evil day, grant me the protection of His tent, raise me high upon a rock. (6) Now is my head high over my enemies roundabout; I sacrifice in His tent with shouts of joy, singing and chanting a hymn to the LORD. (7) Hear, O LORD, when I cry aloud; have mercy on me, answer me. (8) In Your behalf my heart says: “Seek My face!” O LORD, I seek Your face. (9) Do not hide Your face from me; do not thrust aside Your servant in anger; You have ever been my help. Do not forsake me, do not abandon me, O God, my deliverer. (10) Though my father and mother abandon me, the LORD will take me in. (11) Show me Your way, O LORD, and lead me on a level path because of my watchful foes. (12) Do not subject me to the will of my foes, for false witnesses and unjust accusers have appeared against me. (13) Had I not the assurance that I would enjoy the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living… (14) Look to the LORD; be strong and of good courage! O look to the LORD!
