About This Text

Author: Naftali Tzvi Horowitz
Zera Kodesh is a chasidic work by the first rebbe of Ropshitz, Rabbi Naftali Tzvi Horowitz. The first part contains insights on the weekly Torah portions and the second part discusses the holidays, among which Rabbi Horowitz expressed a particular affinity for Sukkot. The author did not publish his works, and a disciple, Rabbi Chaim of Sanz, initially protested their posthumous publication. He later decided his teacher’s writings would have a positive impact and wrote an approbation for the 1868 printing.
