About This Text

Author: Abraham Abulafia
Composed: Spain, 1260 – 1291 CE
Sefer HaCheshek was written in the 13th century by Spanish kabbalist Abraham Abulafia and describes the author’s approach to connecting with God and even achieving prophecy by reciting certain combinations of letters and divine names, along with other meditation techniques. Abulafia lists the work elsewhere as one of the four “most exalted” of his many works, that “reveal most of this knowledge.”
