About This Text

Author: Yaakov Lorberbaum
Nachalat Ya’akov is an early 19th-century work by Rabbi Yaakov Lorberbaum, known as the Netivot HaMishpat or the Chavot Da’at after his most well-known works. The book consists of two parts: the first, featured here, contains sermons on the Torah and essays explaining talmudic narratives. The second part consists of halakhic discourses and assorted responsa. Nachalat Ya’akov includes a long introduction by the author’s grandson, Rabbi Avraham Teomim.
