כנס to go in, enter; to gather, collect.

— Pi. - כִּנֵּס 1 he gathered together, assembled; NH 2 he convened, convoked.
— Pu. - כֻּנַּס 1 was gathered together, was assembled; 2 was convened, was convoked.
— Hith. - הִתְכַּנֵּס PBH 1 it assembled (intr. v.), convened (intr. v.); 2 he shrank, contracted (intr. v.); NH 3 he wrapped himself in; 4 it was gathered, was collected.
— Hiph. - הִכְנִיס 1 he admitted, brought in; 2 it yielded (produce).
— Hoph. - הֻכְנַס was admitted, was brought in. [BAram. כְּנַשׁ (= he gathered, collected), Aram. כְּנַשׁ (= he gathered, collected; he swept the house), Syr. כּֽנַשׁ (= he gathered, collected). Arab. kanasa (= he swept the house) is an Aram. loan word. Aram. כְּנַס (= he gathered, collected), is a secondary form of כְּנַשׁ. cp.
